Just started using PP for .38 Spcl..
Found 5.5 grains in 158 Lead SWC and 6.4 in Hdy 125 gr XTP very accurate...21/2 to 3 1/2 inch from rest 25 yds. 3 inch model 65
Curious if anyone else using PP in a revolver.Meters very well.

Dont have chrony...anyone check similar loads.
The 125 XTP seems like a good home brewed SD load....even from a light 642

I had wanted to try it out in my .41mag Redhawk, but haven't been able to find any load data for it. Have a friend who uses a similar load in his .38spl and likes it alot, but I think he's a few grains less.

Hornady #8 shows that load with a max load of 5.2gr of Power Pistol @ 850fps for the LSWC. The XTP shows @ 950fps with 6.4gr.

I've been using it in my 357 mag for a mid to upper range load for about a year now. I like it a lot and seems to be as accurate as any of the other faster burning powders, more accurate than some.

I made up some 125g TC lead bullets in .357 over 9.0, 9.5 and 10.0g PP. Averaged 1274, 1395 and 1464 fps out of a 4" barrel. Big blast, lively recoil, fun to shoot.

How does PP do in .357 brass?
I'm looking for an intermediate powder between Universal and 2400/296/H110 for launching 158 grain plated bullets up to around 1,100 fps.
