Iv been looking into the 10FCm, because its one of the few bolt guns that can still be had with decent irons.

Its made to be a scout rifle, and as such it comes with that ridiculous B-Square scout scope mount.

I have no desire to mount a scope. Is the scope mount removable? Does it come off?

It will come off without any trouble. You'll probably want to use a dovetail filler for the front point, as its really the rear sight mount point for a standard barrel.

As cheesy as it looks, it does work. I have one and had my doubts, but once I got it locked in place with some Loc Tite, its been fine. Still, they would be better to go with something like Rugers more streamlined type.

I had one for a while. I removed the forward mount and just used regular Weaver bases mounted conventionally for a scope. I had an old Remington 700 rear sight laying around that screwed onto the hole on the barrel giving me conventional front and rear sights. I liked mine a lot better that way. I sold the rifle after a short while because I didn't care for the rifle, but I did like a lot better with the scope mounted over the receiver.
