SKS mags, stocks.

Slowly reconsidering...want to keep the bayo! edited to add: Don't much care for the launcher, though...but I'll keep it if I can

Anyone know what stock was on the SKS that Oleg Volk posted a picture of on the 'Why didn't anyone tell me the SKS was so much fun' thread?

It was beautiful, cept for the hi-cap mags which, due to your advice, I will be straying from...

I'm patiently waiting for mushroom season here. I think the bayonet will be real handy to slice off morels. Nothing worse than being trapped amongst assault mushrooms. Mine is stock Romanian with a Williams peep. Wifes is a Chinese with an ATI Montecarlo. Both work well and are lots of fun.

Well I guess I got lucky, I picked up a 20 round fixed mag for my SKS and it works great. I dont know what brand it is but I picked it up from a gunshow, and it has a star stamped on both sides of it. I did spend about 2 hours of modifying the the thing trying to get it to fit correctly and another hour of tweaking getting it to feed correctly, since then it never has failed to feed a single round.

The ones with the star on both sides that basically look like a bigger factory mag were Chinese imports. Most work good, some have problems. I have one, but rarely use it.

I love my SKS with the Choate Drag-style stock and a AK-74 style compensator. Shoots real nice (comp really cut down on muzzle rise IMO).

Pic with my SAR1 and old MAK:
