I am itching for Sept 14th to get here so that we can all start buying the Steyr LE mags. CDNN has a bunch of Steyr mags that are currently only allowed to go to LEO or FFLs. I have a good friend of the family who has an FFL that is willing to receive some mags for me. My plan is to try to buy like 200 mags below their current price of $9.99. I think if we buy enough they will cut us a deal. I talked to them a while ago and they hinted at a price in the $7.99 range.

I don't know this for sure, but my guess is that once the AWB sunsets they will be selling the regular capacity mags for at least $24.99. By all of us getting in and buying them now we will be able to pick of the mags for something like 1/2 price!! So my question is who is up for a group buy?? Here is my plan.

You send me the money I then have the FFL put in our order. The mags will be sent out by CDNN. As soon as the mags arrive we will put them in USPS priority mail boxes and get them ready to ship. On the 14th of Sept we will mail them out. You all should receive them in 2-3 days.

Minimum Order = 2 mags
Magazine Cost = actual price
Shipping Cost = $3.85 for USPS priority mail

I am sure there are some of you that have never heard of me or are wondering why you should trust some stranger on the internet. I have been haning out here at THR since it opened. I have close to 1500 posts and plan to be on the THR for a long time. I have an excellent feedback rating on Ebay my user name is wicellman. Some of these other guys have seen me around maybe they can vouch for me. My point to all of this is I have been around and am not planning on going anywhere. I am not going to make any money here I am doing this so we can all save a little money. This is the first post to gauge how interested everyone is. I will post a second time in a week or so with payment details for those that are interested.

If you know any Steyr owners please direct them to this thread so that I can get as many people as possible in on our order. In this thread please post how many mags you would like and of what caliber.

Thanks

What is the capacity of LEO S series mags?

I'm pretty sure the M series mags work with my S40, but I'm just curious.

Any M40 mags will work in your S40, they will just stick down further and the baseplate won't be flush.

As long as these are full-capacity mags, I'm in for 4 mags for my M9

LEO Capacity:

14 rounds M9
12 Rounds M40
12 rounds M357

No one is sure if Steyr has ever made any hi-cap mags for the S series pistols

The S40 mags have no extended baseplate on the bottom so as far as I know they would would not have any higher capacity. I am sure the S9 mags could fit a few more rounds then the .40 does.

I should have said that as far as I know we can only get these mags for the M series.

That makes sense. looking at the capacity for the M series mags, I don't think that ther could be hi-cap S series mags.

you could just buy s40 magazines and stuff 9mm in them close the feedlips enough so they work with 9mm and 40S&W. you could get 12 rounds of 9mm now.

What is the capacity of LEO S series mags?

I'm pretty sure the M series mags work with my S40, but I'm just curious.

The 10 round M40 mags are S40 mag bodies with an extended floorplate, so I believe the "full capacity" S40 mags are 10 rounds ... not sure if the full capacity S9 mags hold more though.

Well, a lot of news is looking good for the Sunset!
Im definately in as I said over at Glock Talk for at least 2!

Thanks for all the great response so far. If you know any other Steyr owners please send them this link so we can buy as many mags as possible.

Well folks so far things have gone pretty well. I added up the tenative numbers and as of right now we are sitting very close to 100 and that doesn't count what I am going to buy.

What do you guys think I should do for payment option? I am thinking about allowing people to mail me a check, and also doing paypal. I know everyone is going to say that paypal is anti and all of that, but it is one of the easiest ways to collect money so I am entertaining the thought. I know I would rather pay something with my Credit Card rather then a MO or check. MO and Checks you really don't have any way to go after someone if there is a problem. At least you can always call you CC company.

I am open to ideas please feel to share what you think would work well.

Oh and if anyone else would like some more mags please let me know so I can add you to my tenative list.

a cpl more...or so

I'm in for 2 M9 mags, and 2 M40 mags.

Out of curiousity, when will you place the order? If you do it too early, and DF pulls a surprise, we could all get screwed out of the mags....

If you accept paypal, remember to have those sending it to you add the 2.5%+.39....

I use paypal too because of the convenience; I keep meaning to try yowcow -- www.yowcow.com because they have no problems with legal guns (I asked them).

Hey Black Dragon. My plan is to start accepting peoples money around July 15 or so. Then I plan to place the order towards the end of July. I can't wait too long or they might not want to sell the mags so cheap.

I'm interested in 3 M9 mags.

I have a question though. What happens if, for whatever reason, the ban is renewed? The mags will already be in the FFL's possession and it's very unlikely CDNN would accept a return that long after the fact.

the chances of it being renewed are very slim.

senate does not have many days left in session. if senate passes it has to go back to the house and then maybe back to senate and get to the president eventually for signature. IIRC

president signs it his votes will hit the ????ter because a number of people will shift libertarian or something else.
