I'm somewhere in the ballpark of 1000 rounds (I think) down the pipe with my 709, up until now the gun has been flawless 
It fails to extract, I wouldn't say its frequent, but its too often for a carry gun. the thing is that it only fails when the gun has had about 60+ or so rounds through it in fairly rapid succession. Could it be a temperature thing causing this?
So far it only does it with the cheap target stuff like WWB, I haven't observed the problem with my carry load(147gr +P HST's), but that may just be because I have only fired 200 or so of those and the rest is the target stuff.
I replaced the extractor and spring which helped a little.
I'm thinking its due for a trip back to Miami, but I wanted to check here first, Id rather fix it myself.
