what is your most unique sporterized rifle? pic please :D

mine is a k31 bullpup scout. i know what you are think but hear me out.
i wanted to scope it with out drilling and tapping it so i could hunt long range with it. i tried the side mount and hated it. i toyed with the idea of a custom scout mount and decided i would learn more if i made a custom stock. by moving every thing back i could buy a scout mount and use a regular scope and have a hunting stock with out altering any of the rifle.
it is glass bedded (again a learning oprotunity) with jb weld and i used johnsons paste wax for the release agent. the bedding is amazingly snug at all the recoil areas ie. the front lug and therear tang just behing the magazine. the barrel is free floated. the trigger is a straight rod the goes from the new trigger back to the old trigger. it added about half pound to the tigger pull. it shoots very very well. i have pics on an old cell phone but i cant get them on my pc because the phone is not activated. it is a .5 moa or better. it looks rough and ugly as sin but it is practical and i learned alot while doing the work. i have slimmed it down quite a bit but i need to put the stock back on for pictures

Kudos on the completion of your project! I'm working on a fancy new stock for my Rem 700 as an accurizing learning-experience, too, so I'm glad it's working for you. Do upload some higher res pics, though, as I would like to admire your handy-work:).

I too thought the K31 would lend itself to the bullpup format well, since the action is so simple to operate. Did you relocate the bolt handle with an extension as well as the trigger? Since the rifle ejects out the top, it seems you could move all the controls (except safety and magazine) forward to get a more normal operation.

At this point, my .308 FNAR is my "unique sporterized rifle". Granted, it's sporterized at the factory, but it's still pretty "military" considering it's really a BAR hunting rifle. I also have a Baikal MP161K that looks like it should be a movie prop, or something, but I regard it as more of a toy since it's a finnicky 22cal.

WARNING: THREAD JACK (my apologies )
I'm also about to purchase a K31 for myself, have you had any issues or complaints, or other stuff I should know about before purchasing? How tough are these to clean after shooting corrosive GP11?

Thanks,
TCB

GP11 isn't corrosive.

I have one and couldn't be more satisfied with it.

Just about the best value for the money these days. They should be worth far more than what the places selling them are charging (hopefully they don't catch on to this...)

Yugo M24/47 ; Timney trigger & low mount safety, Rem 700 bolt handle, Leupold rings & mounts, Pentax 6x40 fixed power, Boyds walnut stock.

1-1/4" @ 100 - 180 grn Nosler Ballistic tips
1-5/8" @ 100 - 200 grn Speer 200 grn Hot Core
3" @ 200 - 180 grn Nosler
4" @ 200 -200 grn Speer all shot from a sandbag rest from the bench

I haven't shot farther than that, yet. 62+ year old barrel & action !! not too shabby !!

I've got two unique sporterized milsurps. One, a 1917 Enfield, with a Dayton Traister trigger, cock on opening kit, re-shaped bolt lever, a nice walnut stock
& a 4 ~ 16x scope. Original HS barrel. It shoots into one inch @ 100 yds with my reloads. The other is a .30 carbine with a fajen stock & a Browning 2x scope. It shoots into about 3" @ 100 yds. Both have been very nicely blued with high polish.

sorry about the pics they all came from a cell phone, i have tried to up load them directly to my pc but cant get it to work. i havent put an extention on the bolt yet but i have made a few mock ups. it is kinda trick cause i dont want to damage or alted the rifle in any way. i will try to get a few better pics tonight. the bolt works fine where it is it is just 6 inches back and untill you get used to it can be anoying. for what it was made for it worked great though. i studied up a good bit before i started the project and was told JB weld would never work as a bedding agent. that is a load of horse apples, it works just the same as any rifle i have bedded by a shop. i plan on beding my 03 A3 the same way after i put in some pillars for the crappy ram line stock.

You take a military surplus rifle, Mosin Nagant, Mauser, etc. and you put it in a new, conventionally styled stock like you see on Remchesters, and usually involves mounting a scope, converting them from their military configuration to a hunting or target shooting configuration.

There's a wide range of techniques, but I have youths one that isn't generally frowned upon. Some will cut the original stocks up and do heavy mods to the rifle, in which we call "bubba-tizing."

my brother in montana has a 03 in a 308 norma said he loves it but ammo is tough to get a hold of.
it belonged to my dads mother in law. she got it when her husband passed and passed it down

I never have bought factory ammo for this one. Just this year I broke down and bought factory Norma brass. I had been using a stockpile of sized, trimmed, and fire formed 300h&h cases.
