just picked up pistol last night. only came with one mag.

called up sig to confirm this policy.

they said they only ship with one mag, but would be happy to send me another one for the everyday low price of $43 + s/h.

i don't think i'll fall for that extortion.

A few companies ship with more than one magazine. Its nice to get two mags but its not an industry standard by any means.

SIG and Kimber are awful for this. Cheap bastages. They do this so you can pay 40 more bucks for another one when it should have been included for 5 more.
Springfield XD's and FNH P series guns are the only ones getting it right. They both are offering 2 spare mags, and means of packing the kit.
Wait a second... Most SIGs come with two - the SIG 1911 guns only come with one. Just a clarification.

All of the new Sigs that I've bought came with two mags.
Was is it a CPO? I've seen some of them come with only one mag even though they are supposed to come with two.

Additionally, regarding the comment about SA getting it right with XD's. You get 2 mags, OWB holster, OWB doubly mag carrier, mag speed loader, barrel cleaning snake, slide/grip key lock chain thing all in hardshell case that already has a hole pre-drilled for a padlock of some sort. I was impressed with their package.

Then, you can either buy additional mags at $25 each... Or buy a 3 hi-cap magazine kit that comes with yet another double mag holster, also in a plastic case for only $42. But price varies, seen anywhere from $38 to 53.

I would hope the purchase was a P250, as these are only coming with one mag to try and keep the price lower. All other Sigs should come with 2 mags, and some models like the SCT's or Blackwater come with more.

If there is any problem with the gun, the first words out of their mouth will be, "was it the magazine?" The only way to answer that is to have a spare, so you can just add $40 to the price of your pistol. Have a nice day.

For additional Sig mags, a great place is Top Gun Supply. Do not buy directly from Sig unless they are running a sale.

Though if this is for the new P250, there may not be many deals around.

Sig Sauer is selling the P250 with only one mag in an attempt to keep the price down. Keeping the base price in the high $500s is designed to make it comparable to the Glock, XD, and M&P. If the P250 sold in the $600s many people would automatically write it off.

A dealer I used to do biz with in southern Indiana would take one of the mags before the sale, yet charge full price. Sig found out and jerked his distributorship. (This was back in the day.)

I bet it's a P250 as they're only supposed to come with one mag, all others come with two. And yea, the new mags are like $40 from Sig, but seeing as they were just released, that's the only place to get them.

The Taurus PT92 I bought awhile ago must have been a good deal because it was NIB from the dealer for $480 with 5 unopened mags. ;) That's what pisses me off about some companies like Sig and Kimber (I love them both though), a few dollars more for 1 more mag and customers would be a heck of a lot happier.

Must be a recent development. I can't speak for my 229, since it was used, but my 226 was new, got it in August, and it came with a spare.

Keeping in mind that this was ten years ago, a double-stack, full/standard/high (whatever you want to call it) capacity model might only come with one magazine. When I got my P228 there was just one mag (13 rounds), with a piece of paper inside the box saying this. The only SIG I've bought since then was a GSR 1911, and it had two. Of course, neither of them worked:rolleyes: and I replaced them with Wilson 47Ds, but they were there.

:barf: I've always found Sig pistol's overated, overpriced and over-available! Well thats with one exception, I've always had a soft spot for the 225, a sweet little 8-shooter indeed, but at the prices these folks are commanding, and in this day and age, sending out defense pistol's with less than 2-mags and hitting the customer up for $800 or more pretty much puts it in perspective dosen't it!
