It's even too early for MecGar to offer the P250 mags, but even they are $30.00 and higher plus S&H. Sigs are great guns, but man the prices are high. I can only afford my one P229.

SiGs are the BMW of the handgun world..."the ultimate shooting machine". They are not the cheapest but they are great shooters. Overrated? Not in my opinion.

All my SiGs came with 2 magazines new, but I can't speak to the P250. My Kimber only came with one. I would definitely agree with the comment all new guns should come with 5 mags :D

TopGunSupply has the best customer service of any company I've ever dealt with on the Internet, and they have great pricing on SiG magazines and parts. Give them a shot.

I have heard that not only the P250 but several of the custom shop guns are shipping with only one magazine and that it is likely they are going to start shipping all their guns like this.

Number 52 why I hate the fact that Kimber guy went to SIG.:cuss:

I bought a smith&wesson today and it came with two mags But has a rebate of $50 and two more mags for free. So a total of 4 mags and $50 back :D

Really? the SIGs I've seen lately have had multiple mags..ie the Blackwater. Could it be your shop trying to make an extra $$

Some people aren't reading the posts in this thread.

Yes, apparently the new P250 is shipping with only one magazine to keep the price down. I'm waiting to pick up my latest Sig which comes with two magazines just like ALL my other Sigs including used CPO's. If you're purchasing any other P-Series Sig and it comes with only one magazine I'd be suspicious of the dealer not Sig-Sauer.

Oh, and FWIW, I just bought a CZ 75B and prices for new CZ magazines out here in California are $40. About the same as Sig's.

just an aside ... the mag on my new 250 is stamped "Made In Italy."

The mag is made by Mec-Gar who makes all of SIG's factory magazines, as well as a great many other manufacturers factory magazines.

As did my PCR. Factory CZ mags are about as expensive as Sig, so that's an important extra, IMO.

As for the P250, Sig needs to think hard about how they are going to be perceived. When I think Sig, I think quality, not price competitive. I don't think they really want to get into that game.

...

All my NIB Sigs came with 2 mags, with the exception of my Sig P220, which came with two 8 round mags, and one 10 round mag..

What type of Sig did you buy, and was it new?

I've heard of some sellers (gun shops) that take one of the mags, to sell, and maybe this is what happened.

"Why does sig only ship guns with ONE mag?"

Because they make lots of money selling magazines.

I've always found Sig pistol's overated, overpriced and over-available! Well thats with one exception, I've always had a soft spot for the 225, a sweet little 8-shooter indeed, but at the prices these folks are commanding, and in this day and age, sending out defense pistol's with less than 2-mags and hitting the customer up for $800 or more pretty much puts it in perspective dosen't it!

Yup, puts it in perspective. You don't like Sigs (Except the 225). There, is that better?

Once they get the market price worked out figure they may start offering a free mag rebate like other co's do. Right now they want to maximize the desire for the new gun.

Only providing one mag is despicable. While I love my Baby Eagles it really pissed me off. If Beretta could give me three with my 90-Two, and Sig could give me three with my 2340 Blueline (three mags is standard with Bluelines), then they should sure as heck provide two.

They're not charging $800 for the P250 which is the only Sig that's supposed to come with 1 magazine. With any of the others, if it's only got one magazine, it could very well be the seller taking the extra(s) out.

The P250 is shipped with one to keep the street price around $550-600, the point being to be competitive with the night sight equipped Glocks. Besides once Mec-Gar gets magazines into production you'll be able to get the Mec-Gar branded ones, which are the same as factory mags, on average for $20. On par with many other pistols. So once they're in full production run and not just a limited release like they are right now, you'll be out maybe $20 for that extra magazine. Maybe they'll include another one was full production is under way.

But hey, that's my perspective.

also an aside. i overpaid - $700 before tax. i guess if i was a more careful shopper i would have understood at checkout why there was only one mag.

dang impulse purchases. :D i mean :uhoh:

The Glock Homeland Defender model comes with 4 mags.

My P226R TT came with two mags.

I always liked the idea that with every Nighthawk Custom 1911, you get a coupon to buy 6 more high-quality mec-gar 8 rounders for $100, which is a pretty good deal. Wish more companies would go that route.
