I swear I saw one JUST like that at a gun/clothing store, yeh odd combo. It had a tag for $750.
By clothing, I mean like a high-end tailor type place. You go in, tell them what suit you want, they take measurements, etc... I thought I was in the wrong place when I walked in.

That sounds like a great place. Go in, get tailored for a pinstripe suit, and pick up two 1911's and a Tommy

As for the auction, that does seem just a little high (even for a Colt)

Most of the guns were ummm... what is that called...someone wants to sell something and they sell it for you and take a small commission off it? That thing. Had some nice Colt 1911-A1's and a Mauser with the stock that looks like it was screwed onto the grip.
