You have $1000, what do you buy?

I'd be really tempted to buy another Colt 6920. Can't say enough good things about these rifles.

Or a .22 cal CMMG upper and another Ruger Vaquero in .44 mag. Or a Thunderbeast 22L-1 supressor.

It's your money, you spend it how you want.

Probably pick 1 or 2 from my wish list and the rest on ammo or sighting improvements for existing firearms.

S&W J-frame 7-round .22 Magnum 351PD or 351C
Ruger SP-101 8-round .22lr
S&W Model 63 8-round .22lr
Ruger Mark III .22lr auto

(used)
4" S&W .38 Special (classic 1950s-1970s era)
Marlin 336 in 30-30
Marlin Stainless 1894 in .357/.38

If you don't own a Smith & Wesson Model 617 or M17/M18 (22 rimfire), that is what I would spend my money on. If I didn't need anything in particular, I would keep it in my rainy day fund for essentials that come up. If I "had to" spend the money on a gun or loose it, I'd use it as a serious down payment on a Anshutz sporter 22 rifle.

The next time silver gets around the $20-25/oz(which I think it will happen) range I'm going to buy about 500oz. Guns and silver is a great way to spend money IMO.

Well since I am still starting out with my collection I would get some need guns.

I would buy a Ruger 22/45 .22 Pistol, a Mossberg 702 Tactical, and then depending on money left over after those try to squeeze in a full size hand that I am in need of... that would take some thinking on my end...

OR: Could get a nice shootable M-1 Garand, all needed supplies, and a dacent little ammo stash from CMP program.

They aren't making any more, your purchase will NEVER go down in value, and in most any SHTF/TEOTWAWKI/ZOMBIE/HUNTING/DISTANCE/TACTICAL/PLINKING/ROOM DECOR scenario; you'll have a rifle that will serve beyond your lifespan for generations.

OR: do the same sort of thing but buy a Cugir AK from AIM surplus w/ goodlies. Not an M-1, but the AK they make is a neat bargin and mine hasn't hick-upped since new and hasn't been cleaned in five years (maybe 3K rounds now, and ONLY oiled a bit).

Colt 100th anniversary 1911. Only happens once. I've been practically breaking out in hives that I don't have the cash right now for one. Just not as cool if its bought on the 101st year.

Kit you don't have. Rifle plates, plate carrier, accessories, etc. Do you have combat grade weapons?

Everyone wants to have fun on the range, but it's time we started taking our Constitutional duties seriously.

A model 73 winchester in any caliber is what I want now. Maybe a Colt revolver in 44 special next.

I only had $500, so I bought a CZ75 SA today. I expect to pick it up middle of next week.
