i went to go pay off my 92s and there was a guy with a Stevens 9478 in 20 gauge. He wanted to get 60 bucks for it. The pawn shop offered him 50. He offered it to me for 80 bucks out the door. I took it. Then I saw the sign saying shotguns were on sale for 50 percent off and spotted a model 500 mossberg they only wanted 125 for. I was a little disappointed. I guess I will get over it when I'm hunting with my 20 gauge next year. But 125 for a mossy. Dang it.

OK, so why did you pay him $80?

What I mean is he had already set the price at $60 with them, why didn't you say you'd take it at $60? Why should you pay $20 more than the shop? when he told you $80, why didn't you reply that you'd pay him the $60 he would have taken from the shop?

See when I posted $125 for a 500 I thought it was new. That means they want $250 for a USED 500 when there's no sale??? What a rip. $125 for a used 500 is something (unless lnib) I wouldn't feel too bad about missing. I paid $150 for mine used but looked to be never fired, basically nib.

Decent. They're a dime a dozen. If you can't go back before the sales over, another one will cross your path in no time ;)

When I was in college I worked one Christmas for "Henry's Jean Scene" in Fort Worth Texas. Old Henry decided to have a big sale in January. We took a bunch of old merchandise, made the regular price tag into a sales tag, then put a new regular price tag on the merchandise that was 25% higher than it was originally. Sold a lot of clothes. Because of that one experience, On Sale, is taken with a big grain of salt.

I bought a 20 ga 9478 about a month ago from a local pawn shop for $75 OTD. They had it marked at $100. I believe there will be a use for quality single shotguns. You did okay.

My brand new 500 was $220 with taxes. So I don't think you missed out all that much on the "sale", just sounds like a normal day for a used 500.
