tallpaul,

The next picture we should see related to this is YOUR'S in the POST OFFICE! Just joking out of jealousy. Jimminey, $200 for that. Good deal!

Thanks for sharing it with us. Now go shoot it.

Oh and a broke down picture would be nice. I'd have to make a sheath for the two halves even if it was just the legs of some old blue jeans stitched up. You know just so I could pull it out in two pieces and assemble it in front of folks at the range. "Where does he get his toys?"

That is the price I have noticed them going for....north of $700 for one worth having.

That is always fun ... I enjoy doing that with the ole Sten gun... take it out in pieces - put it together n shoot it... Folks notice :) I am thinking a proper case but I have a really long list of "someday projects" not that ANY of ya can understand that:) This actually was not on my radar or BOLO lists and just like a Squirrel it appeared and messed up my attention :p

I really did not think it was going to clean up so good... the stock has some dings n scratches from honest hunting. I did not think it would be worth so much cleaned up either... it seems like a cool ol' rifle. If she shoots good it will likely stay for a while

I know where I can get a Savage 30/30... but I have TWO Marlin Texan 30/30s already!!! And a Winchester pre-64 .32 Winchester Special.

But I'd love to get one. Congrats and a real good gun you got!

Seems like you need at least the one more... :p

tallpaul, you got a superb deal, I've been looking for one in 300 Savage for quite awhile, however, I too load for 30-30 and cast 2 different weight (150-170grn with gas checks) RCBS molds, and would jump on a 30-30, especially for that price.

This 30-30 is a little older, around 1903 by the serial number. I have a cast bullet load that shoots great out of it and it is a lot of fun at the range. Good luck with yours.

wish my eyes were that good!

"Before" didn't look very "rough" to me. After is even better. You stole it at that price. Congrats. Even if the bore is not so hot, a 30-30 will usually give acceptable accuracy. I have heard that a .32 Win Spl usually will not, but I've never owned one, so I can't say.
