So I just ordered set of black walnut grip inserts for both my sp101 and gp100 from Chigs grips. While on his site i saw he had grips for the blackhawk. But he recommends having the gun so he can fit the grip, which is completely understandable. My younger brothers birthday is at the end of the month and id really like to get him a set, but dont think he would want to send his gun out. Has anyone had any experience with the fitment of the grips from Chigs without sending it in? He sure seems to put out some really nice products, but I dont want to gift a set of grips that need a bunch of fitting.

Edit, installed the grips on both the GP and the sp101

We have Chig's grip panels for my 3" gp100 (black locust) and her sp101 (canary wood). They are well made and a very snug fit in the rubber grip. If Ruger has any manufacturing tolerances in their blackhawk grip frames I can understand why he may want to fit to the actual gun. They sure do add some class to the spartan look of Ruger revolvers.

Thanks for the heads up with Chig's Grips! Very nice looking and very reasonably priced!
