Early SKS barrels were 1:7.5" later were 1: 9.45" just checkin.Sure why not, only way is to do the tryings. Nice rifles.
I've been looking at getting a ranch in 7.62x39. Does anyone know, does it have a .311 bore or a .308 bore? I have a Mini Thirty that I'm going to pick up some Sierra .311 Pro-Hunters for, if this was the same bore I could the same in both and that'd be pretty neat. (-:

Another one to check out is the Federal Fusion https://www.sportsmansguide.com/pro...762x39mm-fusion-123-grain-20-rounds?a=1593861Funny you should ask. Just picked my ranch up yesterday for the same reason, 15 year old stash if 154gr SP. It shoots them very well. I am getting 1.5" groups at 100 yards from a bench using bags and a 2-7x scope. Not bad for ammo most said was only good for 3-4" groups... I have not had an opportunity to shoot farther on paper yet.
I would like to try the Hornady SST load at some point as those have a very good reputation.

I have a PSA 7.62 upper and I have 100 percent reliability with all ammo.Huh. Neither the 7.62x39 Rossi or PSA I have will reliably ignite rounds. (Though the PSA has fewer FTFs than the Rossi, which is probably under 50%, even with US ammo.)
