I guess you could say I "rotate" them.

I pretty much only have 3 knives that I carry:

Benchmade 710 (50% of the time)
Laguiole folder (40% of the time)
Enzo Necker on belt (10% of the time)

At present time I have about 20 that I rotate through. Mostly Spyderco. Sometimes I switch every day, other times it's once a week. They all get a turn though.

I rotate my EDC based on where I'm going. Most of the time I carry a ZT 0562CF, but I often have to carry something much smaller if I'm headed onto a college campus or similarly restrictive location. A CRKT Squid is my current little knife go-to.

Like ugaar, what I carry is determined by where I'm going. If I'm in military uniform or headed outdoors, it's usually a Spyderco Manix 2 XL. Most of the time, I carry a Manix 2 LW. If I can carry, but want to be discrete or space is at a premium, I carry a Native 2 LW.

I do. Today I seem to be toting the Cold Steel Voyager XL, clip point. Yesterday I carried the Cold Steel Talwar. Before that, a Spyderco Tenacious. Come to think of it, I also have an automatic Boker AK47 in my left pocket. I have other knives, too, that make the "whim" rotation.

I've got a "bunch" of knives and go back and forth about which brand I like best. For EDC a Spyderco Delica, Benchmade Mini-Grip, or Bugout, and ZT 0450 get rotated a lot. If I can make use of a bigger knife similar larger versions of each of those are available. But is seems that I reach for something made by Spyderco more often.

I carry a Buck 444 lockback folder with a thumb stud for rough cutting; opening packages and pulling staples. For cutting more delicate stuff I rotate between a CV Case small Trapper, a Swayback Jack or a SS small Stockman.

Only when I forget the EDC; then I'm stuck with either a cheap folder, or a fixed blade. (In WI, you can carry any length blade with a CCW, as long as it is concealed.)

While I do have back-ups (for when my daily carry has hidden itself...) the only time I switch to something “else” is when I must carry something more concealable (an Al Mar Eagle). I want the same large folder always since its use needs to be instinctive...

I’ve only needed it for defensive purposes on one or two occasions (fortunately I was able to get out them without using a blade...). I do use my EDC all the time at work on the water and it’s a real safety device since getting tangled in an anchor line or net line can quickly drown you without a single handed blade to cut yourself free... I’m also handling fish quite a bit bigger than me right at the skiff from time to time (sharks, tarpon, and other big critters..) that can easily tangle you up and drag you overboard if you’re not careful so having the same knife at all times is a pretty good idea for me. My choice for quite a few years now has been a full sized Benchmade Ascent (long discontinued) and it stays in my front pocket, strong side.

For those that think I'm exaggerating - I've also had one angler (quite a bit bigger than me) actually snatched right off my skiff after hooking something large and un-stoppable at point blank range a few years back... Scared me to death since we were anchored up and I was afraid I'd lose him.. We joked later that next time he'd need to be wearing a leash... Where I work, Everglades National Park for daytime charters, it's a real jungle, both above and below the water with all kinds of critters that are considerably bigger than me...

I've been carrying a Mini-Griptilian for ages now. My EDC is a Doug Ritter mini-RSK Mk1 MiniGrip variant; I would fall back to a standard Mini-Grip if anything happened to the Ritter.

I have 4-5 in rotation. All 4" fixed blade Canadian pattern stainless from Grohmann's. I got a great deal on 'blemished' blades they made for Canadian Special Forces. I'll tell you the 'blemishes' were incredibly minor and I would not have noticed them at all had I not been looking for them.

I used to and I then settled on what works for what I'm doing (and I thought it was silly of me spending time choosing from a large collection for what was suppose to be an every day carry).

When it comes to multitools, been carrying this pattern since 1996

Except for rifle matches when I carry this one, because it has more screw driver blades:

But for pocket knives, I went from carrying Swiss Army knives, for decades:

to a knife du jour! I have too many pocket knives! I enjoy playing with the things. Currently carrying some Queen's and Case knives, mostly stockman. Nothing I do makes sense.

Lost this one, no idea where it has gone

Still have this one

I pretty much carry the same one daily until I get tired of it in maybe a few years and try something else. Right now its a Spyderco Delica 4.

The only time I ever switch out another knife is if I somehow quickly dull my EDC knife and don't have time to sharpen in, in which case I'll grab my "old" EDC knife and carry it until I have time to resharpen them both. My backup right now is a Benchmade Mini-Barrage. Prior to that it was a Mini-Griptilian.

....and your current favorite?

Browning

A very nice collection to select from! Do you have any favorites?

Thank you.

The newest is the Gerber on the right that I usually just use for work, but the Benchmade Presido I is my current favorite (4th from the right).

I like the lock better on this one that the newer ones.

The newer Presidio's have a much smaller lock that's harder to engage and disengage.

I just bought a Benchmade Griptillian with orange G10 scales for work around the farm. (I figured the orange scales will make it easier to spot if I misplace it.) Prior to that, I used some old cheap Coast lock-back knives I found at a half-off sale.

At the office, for many years I've only carried a Victorinox SAK Classic. But I also just bought a Benchmade 940 Osborne, which will probably become my EDC at the office. It's light and slim but plenty of blade.
