Who rotate their EDC knives?

What a sweet bunch of knives. I carry my Mini Griptilian. I have others which I could carry. The reason it gets picked over the others is its clip and the ability to put my hand in my pocket while the knife is in place without scratching up my hand. Working in IT, my reasons for a knife can be different from other working people. I need to open boxes, cut zip ties (lots of zip ties), my lunch when necessary, and numerous other tasks.

I travel a lot and have a Kershaw knife that I have set aside for travel only. It stays in the suitcase.

I have a homemade knives I carry everyday. A framelock in the winter when I am swapping layers around all the time, and a fixed blade on my belt in the summer. One of those and a leatherman supertool 300 that go with me everyday.
I will swap around additional knives depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going. I've been working with a lot of young horses lately, using a rope a lot so I have added a Byrd Rescue 2 so I have a one handed serrated blade for emergencies. Other times, like the day we move into the county fair and I know I will get asked to borrow a knife 100 times, I carry a buck bantam or something I can live with losing, in addition to a handmade knife and the leatherman.

I typically rotate through 4 or 5 knives every now and then. Right now I have a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, a Kershaw Scallion, a Kershaw Leek, a Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn, and a Gerber Trendy (fancy occasions), along with some sort of SAK, in the line-up.

In a way, I rotate my knives. Right now I am carrying a Benchmade Pika II. Have been for a about 6 months. And I will get to the point where "This knife feels small" and I will start carrying my Benchmade Adamas or my Kabar Mule or something like that. Then those knives will feel heavy or big, and I go smaller again.

... the Folger rule. The best part of waking up ... is deciding what knife to carry.
:)
I agree. I don’t own any high end knives, but I do enjoy variety. I usually carry one very small knife (for polite company use) and a medium to large knife too. This is part of the accumulation from Spydercos to Walmart; locking, slipjoints, and a few small fixed blades. 180FADD6-94EB-4530-BD36-8D2344285AF9.jpeg

I am not a hobbiest, collector or enthusiest, I replace gear when the time comes but I do not intentonally "rotate" grear.

If by rotate, you mean carry something else when I lose the one I normally have with me, then yes.

I have a whole drawer of knives that I think are nice and that I might someday carry. But that would mean I’d be without my vict pioneer and I end up using the bottle opener more than the knife. :/

I see very few fixed blades.I have pocket knives, but I’ve carried a fixed blade hunting knife on my belt all my life.My Grandpa gave me one in 1963 and told me to keep it sharp or it won’t work.It is a last line in life or death a tool for living and just a good blade if it’s sharp.
For many many years most thought I only carried a knife.I did not enlighten them.A good fixed blade will be much better than any folding blade.I also carry a pocket knife.
Always carry more than 1 blade.

curious to know more about those slip joints you are showing
The pliers?
I cut the handles off at the proper length and weld ob 1/2" box end wrench on one, and a 4-in-1 screwdriver shank on the other.
I make them for fsmily and friends.
Lovingly known as "the pinch and screw", much to my wifes disapproval.
Pull the screwdriver bit out, and you have a 5/16 nut driver.

Today, I have a Kershaw Ososweet. I've lost one of the clip screws, so it gets loose in my pocket, but I absolutely love this knife.

Quite often, I carry a late 60's early 70's Western 742 stockman. Some of the absolute best steel I have ever seen in a folder. Bar none.

Dress occasions, a Boker double medallion stockman with green jigged bone. Purty knife right there.

For the last few years, I've carried a TRS 5N1, handiest knife I've ever had, but the clip is wearing out too many pockets on jeans, so I'm now back to relying on my Leatherman Micra, which simply fits in a pocket with change.

Usually two though have a third for the rare dress up situations. Top is Devin Thomas "Spirograph" 440-C -AEB-L stainless damascus, Timascus bolsters and mammoth type ivory. The new regular EDC with mokume bolster and carbon fiber handle scales. Imitation tortoise for chore day that has been carried since '98.

Call or email Kershaw. They'll almost certainly send you a new set of screws, if not a whole clip assembly. I've never heard of them not doing so.

Those are beautiful; thank you for sharing the pictures.

I rotate my knives depending on what I expect to be doing and what I'll be wearing. Right now I'm carrying a Kershaw all-steel folder of some sort for opening boxes, cutting paper and shaping drywall here in the library. I carry smaller stuff when I have to dress up, bigger stuff when I'm doing rougher work.

I've got a whole drawer full of folding knives, but I really only use a few of them as regular EDC.

For work days, I carry a small Uncle Henry 707UH. I need a sub-2.5 inch knife because I work in a federal office building. Its got a pen blade and a pair of scissors. Perfect for the office where the heaviest use its put to is cutting open FedEx packages.

Weekends and evenings around the house or running errands, I tend to rotate between my Spyderco Delica and Case CV Trapper. The Delica is my go-to EDC but some times I like to go "old school" and carry the Trapper.

If I'm out in the woods, I'll often carry a fixed blade, but I've got a Victorinox Trekker with a one-hand, locking main blade. My Spyderco Military is another folder that sees some trail time.
