Does anyone know why Ruger discontinued the no-manual safety “Pro” version of the LC9S?
Because you still need to train yourself to sweep off the safety when you draw the weapon, to make sure its off?Not really. More importantly what difference does it make? If you don't want to use the safety, don't use the safety.

Okay. Understood. My EDC is a striker without a manual safety. I bought a the LC9s for occasions when I want or need a more concealable weapon. I chose the pro model for it's similar operation to my other carry guns. Safeties can get bumped on as well as off.
An issue for you, me and many others.as a lefty it’s either ambi or no safety.
It doesn't concern me at all, it's still a Ruger.do I want a discontinued gun?

The trigger is fairly light, but there is nothing short about it. You have to start pulling it today to get a shot off by Sunday. It seems to me that Ruger could, if they so desired, produce an EC9S “Pro”, sans safety and magazine disconnect at least as cheaply as the EC9S. There must be another reason besides price point. I’m just curious. I was going to buy an LC9S Pro at one point but, frankly, I thought the trigger was too light and short for a safety-less pistol. I thought mine a minority opinion but I’m wondering if Ruger decided the same thing. I am giving serious thought to an EC9S. Hard to argue against the price.
I was really interested in the LC9s pro because as a lefty it’s either ambi or no safety.
LGS has a pro for $399. The price is less than a G42,43 they have but do I want a discontinued gun? That’s what I’m wrestling with now.

IME the SR9.compared to what?
As for the magazine disconnect, well there isn't much you can do about that, but really, when is that going to matter either? In what situation are you going to want to fire the gun with no magazine installed?
They can still be found.I do recommend the Ruger LC9Spro for the no safety and no mag disconnect reasons. I've had one for a couple years, but I have not seen any advertised for sale new in a good while.
What do you mean about losing a mag? Don’t you keep spares? If the LC9S Pro is discontinued, I glad I got mine when I did. Lose a mag and the LC9S is useless. I have no use for a safety carrying without one in the chamber. I do practice drawing, racking and firing at the range. hdbiker
When dry firing for practice of course. What a pain to have to release the slide after every rack with an empty mag installed. Much better to remove the mag and rack slide without hold open each time.
