Not sure if stopping selling ARs, so-called high capacity magazines, people under 21 years of age and hiring lobbyists to push gun control affected Dick's but they are in trouble now.

They did have some good hunting and fishing deals at times though.

With sales falling after the imple
mentation of corporate gun control Dick’s Sporting Goods may have to close 35 stores across 18 states.

The option of the closing the stores was revealed during a retail conference question and answer session with Goldman Sachs.

Dick’s Chief Financial Officer Lee Belitsky made clear no more of the company’s Field & Stream stores would be built and CEO Edward Stack went even further, floating the option of the closing the Field & Stream stores that exist already.

You see what happens when you believe what the left is telling you. Dick’s CEO thought that he was doing what people would have wanted him to do. But when the backlash hit from those on the right, he defended his actions and took another step to the left.
I hope that this is a wake up call to those that think that conservative Americans will do business with those that side with the liberals.

Every time I go to one of those stores, Dicks or Field and Stream or the non-existent Gander Mountain, I feel like I wasted all of my time. I also feel cheap and used.
Granted, I did need a new set of gloves and they had what I needed but I didn’t like it.

I hope it really was their firearms policies that got them in trouble and not just the fact that they suck overall.
They're inextricably intertwined.

The same contempt for their customers demonstrated by their despicable customer service is reflected in their turning on their gun owning customers.

They think you have a DUTY to give them your business and act accordingly. When you don't, it's like a slap in the face

Sigh, I visited a Dicks last weekend for the first time in ages. They had recently sent me a $10 Dicks Bucks coupon to entice me back into the establishment. So I found a box of Fusion 308 185 grain, regular $19.99, marked 30% off on clearance and walked out with 20 rounds of 308 for around $3.70 out of pocket.

I was trying to eat into their profit margin and believe I accomplished that.

Oddly, for the first time in years, the clerk didn’t ask my birthdate as I checked out. What’s up with that?

Never been in one. Hell i don't know if I've ever even seen one. I cant make use out of those big "outdoor stores". Of course it's a 1.5 hr trip to my nearest one. When i make my annual trip to Track of the Wolf (1.5 hr) I pass by a few big box outdoor stores on the way. I can always beat thier prices locally AND support mom and pop stores. Win win for all. Good riddance Dicks.

In NE Ohio, we're lucky enough to have a local chain, Fin, Feather, Fur Outfitters. They have a MUCH better selection, better prices and don't treat their customers like lepers to be avoided.

If they'll order it, I might get the 7 1/2" Cimarron Frontier I've been thinking of from them.

Not to rain on your parade but I'd be the loss revenue of gun owners impact would be less 1% per quarter at best. At least here the Dicks gun market was heinously overpriced and bizarrely stocked. Id bet that Amazon got them on other items like sports wear and such. Guns themselves don't have some margins that other products do.

I have 3 nice localish spots that took me years to discover. One that's great on gun prices and ordering. One thats great on reloading supplies. And one that's great on BP (Track of the Wolf).

Haven't been to Dick's since they took their anti- 2A stance. That's the way they persuaded me to shop elsewhere. Why would a company that sells hunting & outdoor gear do that? Year and a half ago a Runnings Home, Farm, and Outdoor Center opened up not too far from me. It's my new go-to place for guns ( Henry lever .22), reloading gear, powder, hunting gear including a ladder stand (got a veterans discount on the ladder stand), clothing, hardware, fishing gear, all kinds of stuff. The folks there are also very good to deal with and are pro- 2A ... I'm a regular, satisfied customer of theirs now.

Yup, instead of folding they double downed. Auf Wiedersehen you will not be missed.
