P365

I held a 365 yesterday for the first time ... I may be saving my pennies up for one soon ...!!

The only thing they wouldn't let me dry fire it to feel the trigger ... I wouldn't buy any pistol with out doing so ... Sure felt good in my hand...

Maybe by the time I can get one ...they'll have all the bugs out ... sounds if they are getting close ...

I've had a P365 since late May, just shy of 1000 rounds through it. Only issue is about 5 times the slide has failed to lock back on an empty mag. I may be riding the slide release, don't consider it much of a problem. I carry almost exclusively with the 12 round mags and recently switched to a Black Arch IWB, absolutely love that holster, comfort of a hybrid with the retention of a properly fitted full kydex rig. One of these days I'll purchase a new, updated one and retire this one to range only duty but for now I don't hesitate to trust my life to it.

Monty, I have two P365's and see many of them in our range on a daily basis. I can pretty much guarantee your lock back issue is done by the shooter. Shooting two handed I do not think mine has ever locked back. Shooting one-handed which I do 99% of the time, I never have had that failure.

Sounds like you were in a BASS Pro. First time I saw the gun, they would not remove the lock, so I walked out - they lost a sale. A few months later, I rented one, loved the trigger and found it $475 at Gander (Good Sam discount)

Academy... $499 ... but not in my state...
Huh? Academy is in Valdosta, your screen name says South GA........bought a lot of stuff there when going to shoot sporting clays at two clubs in the area.

I'd watch this first

I had one, firing pin broke within the first 300 rds. Sent it to SIG came back and was promptly sold. I cannot recommend them at all regardless of anyone's anecdotal "mine has x number of rounds and its great", they have had too much negative publicity to me. Can they be redone right? Absolutely, but I won't be buying the "gen 2" when they come out. Pretty sad state of affairs when even Taurus is beating them in that gun niche with the G2C...

Seriously? Whatever. Guess you have NEVER had ANY gun have ANY part EVER break? The only way that happens is when you leave them in the safe

Yes seriously, this gun is a documented failure with too many reports to be considered reliable. Yes I've had issues with other guns , (never read my Ruger posts huh?) But this one ? There are still reports of it failing both new and returned from factory don't care if YOUR gun is not experiencing that it's still not fixed company wide.

And yet you are hearing HERE first-hand experiences from a lot of us who have ZERO issues. So go on and believe the "truth" of the internet rumors. Leaves more for me to get a second.

And just how many rounds have YOU fired through one? Just those few rounds? Didn't Sig make it right?

I had more issues with a Marlin 39A from the "good years", won't even mention how bad Rugers suck; only guns of mine that work are my Browning O/Us. my Rem bolt actions and my S&W K frames.

My firing pin broke within 200 rounds. SIG should've made it right out of the box just like I've said for Ruger, Smith, and Remington. Again your anecdotal examples don't compare to an industry wide issue these aren't "rumors" go ahead and buy some more I really hope they don't fail if you need them most.

Almost all new mini guns and even some larger sized guns have birthing pains, including the Sig P238, P938 and P320, Glock 42, 43 and Gen 4 guns, Springfield XDS (announced a recall and started collecting guns from customers before they had a fix), etc. The conventional wisdom is to not buy them too early. Internet chatter about problems started trailing after about the third set of rolling changes to the P365, and even those dealt mostly with weak front sights. My October build P365 has run much better for the first thousand rounds than my Glock 43 did. I look forward to allocating another 2500-5000 practice rounds to the P365 next year.

another broke firing pin:

the details of the break start @ the 17:10 minute mark.

Mine is an earlier gun (March 22-2018) and has the "bad" striker, but I haven't been able to break it yet, I'll keep trying. Until then, I am going to continue to carry it. I have over 1K rounds through it, I need to go out and run a bunch through it again one of these days, maybe this weekend. I have been shooting it, but just a few rounds here and there since the initial couple of big days/high round counts with it.

Hmmmm, Let's see.............they have been making these to satisfy a 100K backlog; there's about that many already out there, and you have posted a video of 1 guy...........
I'd hate to see what I could find ab out Ruger, S&W, Glock, or similar.......

You don't like them? Fine, don't buy one
I LOVE mine

i am addressing the op questions. i don't think this is a problem, generally, as one can always carry a bug.

Gosh, addressing the OP's questions by providing a YouTube video? How helpful.
Here's an even more recent YouTube video -- 11,000 rounds fired "You're wrong about the P-365."

Cuts both ways. It's the freakin' internet, after all.
Buy your own, use it, and then answer the questions, because the internet will support any side of any issue you can dream up
