The G48 may not be a Sig killer, but I can hear Rob Pincus's heart breaking from here. Who will buy an Avidity Arms PD10 now, if he ever manages to get it out the door?
It may yet end poorly for Rob Pincus, Avidity seems taking forever to bring the gun to market. But we know of several guns who sell straight into Glock space. CZ even brags that P10c fits into G19 holsters. And today, Mossberg announces MS1sc, which is virtually indistinguishable from Glock 43. So... Good luck to him.

I am finally excited about a new glock model. the M48. I love fullsize single stacks. They fit my hands like a glove. The old 3906/3913 where my favorites. But i they are safe queens now. The P220 is too big to carry and its 45. The P239 is no longer being made. So that left me with a the shield. Longest grip for a single stack i could find.
No love for Kahrs, why is that?

More guns and models of guns is good.

I’ll admit that I hated the 19X and then loved it, but I know I will never own a 43X or 48. Just doesn’t do anything I need done.

The G43 should’ve been a 7/8 rounder like the Shield and I’d probably have kept it. Instead it’s a 6 round, two finger grip and the X is a 10 round, full grip? At some point it’s gotta be just about making something new and selling it.

I read that Glock says they sold a million G43s, so...I won’t argue about the wisdom of their newer guns.

It’s not what I want, so it sucks! :)

Why does every post about a new gun from Glock has to turn into this?
“ They made another gun I don’t need “
Or
“ They didn’t make the gun I wanted “
You don’t get this kind of dribble when other new guns hit the market.
Like I said earlier these guns will not appeal to everyone.

Because Glocks literally are nothing special. Anytime a new Glock comes out you have the lovers who will jump all over it. It is THE next best thing. Even if the only change is the stippling or the color. The 19X was something anyone with a G17, G19, a hacksaw, and a can of spray paint could have done. That isn't innovation. I have shot nearly every mainline Glock there is. G43, 42, 22, 23, 21, 19, 17. And there hasn't been a single one I considered keeping for myself. The only one I ever owned was the 42 so I could sell it at a profit.

Glocks are perpetuated by internet idiots who think the Glock 19 is the most perfect firearm ever made, nope. Not even close. I love Walthers. But that doesn't mean I want to own every single model ever made. Best chances I will never own a CCP (unless the wife likes it). The PPS M2 feels way too awkward in my hand. I have no love for the Q4 or anything with a 5" barrel.

Gen1 did have some issues. But I haven't heard of anything in the gen2 guns. Biggest downside to them is the barrel is pinned. So changing barrel length isn't for they layman. Although they are mix and match between uppers and lowers much like a lot of Glocks.

Ive had a gen2 9mm for a few years now. It's been great without any issues. Admittedly it's just a range toy.
I've basically just mentally assigned the Ruger PCC as my next carbine purchase just cause it uses Glock mags (I generally use a G26 or a G19 as my beater carry pistols).

I don't want a Kel-Tec and none of the various AR-like Pistol Cal Carbine made my heart race, I'll definitely give it a look though. So thanks.

Nah, nothing like that.

More like ... 'Not what I really want and I definitely won't buy one, but others are more than welcome to it. I just wish Glock would release a couple of the models that I've wanted and heard people talking about since 1998'.

Seems like when you bag on a gun companies marketing choices on here some people react like you slapped their wife, questioned their manhood and insulted their first born.

That's not how it's meant. It's just talk. Some of it questioning what models they're choosing to focus on, their design features, dimensions, capacity, questioning why they released that particular model at this particular time and then comparing those new models to other guns and other companies. It's a gun forum, isn't that what we're supposed to be doing?

More guns and models of guns is good.
Yep, agreed.

Sometimes people think they know more then the do. Your comment about the 19X shows that you don't know that much about them. It's the same pistol that was in the HMS trials, but without the external safety. It has a different barrel, no finger groves, but if anyone would have done a little reading or watched a video or to about the gun would know that.
Now I do own a few Glocks, but not every model. Not all their models fit my needs. As soon as Glock starts sending me a royalty check, I will become a Fan Boy for them, But right now I just like some of their guns.
Now you come to a topic about Glocks so that you can talk trash about Glocks. You even talked trash about people that like Glocks. I would have to say that this is very LOW ROAD of you. Or your a Troll.
And I think it's great that you like Walthers. How do they sell compared to Glocks? I don't think their sales are even close.
But this topic is not about who likes or doesn't like Glocks. It's not about which gun is better then Glocks. It's about the two new guns that Glock has just come out with.

Not much of an improvement being the general point.

I don't believe I am being very low road about this. It is a preference. Like you mentioned. Not every firearm fits everyone's needs. And I like to think I have a pretty good reason to come to Glock threads on my favorite gun boards. The information is usually here before it is normally everyone else. I keep up with Glocks so I know if they do offer something I like. One Glock I AM interested in is something in 10mm. Something in size between the 20 and 29 maybe, as I haven't fired either. And I didn't talk trash about people who like Glocks. Based on student numbers I have taught close to 100 people how to shoot firearms on Glocks. Some choose Glock and some have picked something better. Good for them. My main bother is people who think Glocks are the best without ever trying anything else.

And I think it's great that you like Walthers. How do they sell compared to Glocks? I don't think their sales are even close.

It isn't about sale numbers. If it were about sales or popularity I would want an AK, being the most common firearm in the history of the world. But I don't want an AK, so I am not going to get one. I like what works for me, and Glock just isn't in that list.

I like the G48. I just may have to buy one.
These guns will not appeal to everyone , but no one should get but hurt over them. There are several guns out on the market that I could care less for, but I don't feel the need to go around bashing them.
I drive a Ford F150 and my Brother drives a Chevy. We both love our trucks, but don't argue about which one is better, that would be meaningless. We feel the same about guns.

This. If I avoided every gun that was bashed on the internet I'd have to resort to throwing rocks to defend myself. So far Glocks haven't worked for me. I've bought and sold off a number of them and only have a 19 left, which I rarely shoot. If they work for someone else, I'm happy they found the gun they like. I have no idea whether either of these two will interest me, but I'll take a look when they're available.

My first thought was "nah," and I think that continues to be true of the 43X. The more I look at the 48, though, the more I like it.

What I don't get is why the G43x is thicker than the G43 and mags don't interchange down. IF they want to go slim, GO SLIM. True single stack mag. This is weird. The G43 is already wider than it needs to be.

That's the whole point.

There's plenty of paper thin pistols out there because of the CCW boom. No point in creating more. They shoot poorly. Don't stand a chance against a competent opponent with a fullsize.

So now there has been a demand for pistols that properly fit our hands, but still conceal well. Instead of absolute smallness, and forsaking the practical ability to actually effectively use it.

Well said! I'm on day three of my resolution to be polite and non-snarky. Some people make it very, very difficult to be kind and gracious. Thank you for being a great example of how to confront ignorance and hate with reason.

Glocks are like Pokemon

Gotta collect em all !!!

Homey don't think so..

I own plenty (5) yet won't own another till they actually do something new.

Adding here and cutting there is not exactly enticing to repeat customers.

I blame the competition with SIG. If they kept the top end of G43, they could only get 8+1 in the size. It would be a laughing stock of the media if they did that.

I do my best to be nice. And that can be hard at times. It’s not hard be polite when you disagree with someone, you just disagree without snide remarks.
But when it comes to Glocks there are so many that think everyone else wants to know that they don’t like them. But the truth is no one really cares unless they can give good reason why.
Most of the gripes in this topic have nothing to do with the guns this topic is about.
I think Glock has done pretty good with these to pistols to fill the gape between the compacts and sub compacts.

I wouldn't bet my life on rocks. I've read on the internet they suffer from failures to feed, and I'm pretty sure they come up short on ballistic gel penetration only beating out .380.
