Hi Retired01 -- I'm not trying to persuade you to go with any particular platform or another... Just trying to provide you with as much data as possible to arrive at a considered decision.

Here are photos of my NAA Black Widow both inside and outside a Sticky Holster. Inside the holster, it sits securely, and within the limits of practical reality, I cannot imagine the action becoming engaged.

But I totally understand you have to go with what makes you absolutely comfortable... :)

I really like the Black widow, the holster, and the grip, I looked at the Black Widow on "Bud's site and he had 4 or 5 listed with multiple letters after the discription of the gun, most of them I figured out what they stood for, but not all. Would you mind telling me where you purchased yours? I appreciate it!

If I recall, I got my Black Widow a good 10-12 years ago from Bud's. I bought the "convertible" version with the swappable .22 LR and .22 WMR cylinders. Mine came with the Novak adjustable sights, although it looks like NAA has gone to Marble sights with white dots on their Black Widows (back in the day, the sights came black -- I added some white to the sight faces with a Sharpie). Here's the specific link to NAA's Black Widow product line, which might help clarify:

I believe I bought the Sticky Holster through Amazon. Here's the link for that product:

The grips are after-market from Revision CV (CVang). I just bought the basic plastic (glass-filled) grips, and cannibalized some unused TractionGrip pieces to give it a more secure hold. CVang has since come out with more expensive grips ($30 more) with a bit of additional texturing. If I were to do it over again, I might opt for those. Here's the link to their grip options:

I hope that helps!

If I can provide any more input, please let me know. :)

Interesting thread Does anyone have experience with the longer barrels NAA offers? 4 or 6 inch?

Looks like they might be a nice light finishing gun to carry on the trap line.

Thanks
Ironhand

Hey Irondhand -- I have a 3" Earl with convertible .22LR/.22WMR cylinders which I always thought would be a hoot to try out as a minimalist "kit gun" for the trail -- but I never got around to it. :(

The NAA users forum linked below is WILDLY dedicated to the little fellows... You might also want to post your query there to see if you get any responses (I suspect you will!). :)
