I have a Magnum mini convertible, and I've noticed certain .22LR rounds result in setback and a jammed cylinder. After some experimentation, it seems the biggest offenders are the rounds with nickle plated cases, like the CCI Stingers and shotshells. The Aguila SSS rounds jam too, sometimes.

I'm guessing the problem is the nickle plating. Here's my hypothesis: Normally, when you fire a .22LR cartridge in a revolver, the case expands slightly under pressure and grips the cylinder walls. But the nickle plated shells don't do this, as the nickle plating has a much lower coefficient of friction. The Aguilas have a very short case (.22 Short sized) and also have less grip.

Anyone else notice more setback jams with some cartridges than others in these guns? I haven't noticed any problems at all with any ammunition in the .22Mag cylinder.

CCI Stingers for one have a slightly longer then normal .22 LR case length.

It is expanding into the end of the chamber and then can't slip back forward to allow the cylinder to turn.
So, if they are causing problems, don't shoot them in your NAA.

The SSS is also a goofy round in that the super long & heavy bullet may expand the case tighter then normal .22 Long Rifle ammo.

If it is also causing problems, don't shoot it either.

All .22 WRM ammo is loaded in the same length case & pretty standard bullet length, so it shouldn't cause any problems.

Well, yeah, I kind of figured out that part myself ;-)

file off the burrs on the rim cutouts on the back of the cylinder (you might want to get a magnifying glass and check for the burrs, first). send the pistol back to naa if you don't want to do it. i'm sure they will fix the problem.

your gun should feed most ammo without jamming.
