Followed me home

Sad but true fact is this store doesn’t even carry Ruger products for sale. It’s all Sig Sauer, Glock, and Kimber. With a few $999 S&W here and there. I love it when people upgrade and leave these poor souls to me.

I've been wanting another Ruger .22, and that SS with the standard barrel contour looks mighty handsome to me. Just never took a shine to bull barrels.

My two best LGS buys, a practically unfired CZ 550 in 6.5x55 with a 3x9x40 Leupold for $400 and a very nice Redhawk .41 7.5” for $325, were consignments at a Police-oriented gun store that sat unwanted for months. All the newbies were in the store buying the latest “operator approved platform” Glock-SW-HK-SIG-Kimber and repeatedly bypassed these gems. Since they were collecting dust with no one interested I offered half the asking for price on their tags and walked out with them.

Great finds, glad they’ve found a home that’ll treat them right .

Stay safe!

I’m really liking this 8” barrel, cannot wait to get a hogue grip

Hardly ugly ducklings. Two excellent finds.

While I agree that they're both great buys I also share sparkyv's sentiment that neither gun is an "ugly duckling". I never was a fan of Ruger's P series of semi-autos but I have always been quite fond of the styling and performance of the Mk.II, in particular the bull barrel model. I'm also very pleased by the design and ergonomics of the SR9c with the feeling it shares a certain kinship to your new Ruger American pistol.

I was referring to them being unwanted by their previous owners. They are much beloved additions to my growing Ruger family.

That looks like a 6 7/8" barrel to me, but with Ruger you never know. Not trying to be a smart a__, but where are you measuring from?

Breach to tip, I thought where the chamber is was included.

Bolt face to muzzle. Take your cleaning rod, put it in the barrel all the way down to the bolt face, mark it and measure that.

I’m gonna call it 6&7/8” because what I got doesn’t make sense.

I got 7&3/16
