Went to the Tulsa OK gun show today. I don't like gun shows because they are usually overpriced, but Tulsa is the big one! My 8 year old daughter went with me and wanted a canon of all things. Geez, don't know to be worried about her or proud.
Found a Kimber .45 I could not leave on that cold, plain, non caring table. It needed a good home, and I really think it liked being held in my hand, I smiled anyway. I usually try to justify a purchase, this time I was trying to justify leaving it there. I was given a deal nobody would walk away from. A Kimber Custom TLE/RL II. Stainless was 1 bill more, but I wanted the black.
Needless to say, it left the table with me. I can't wait to take my new adopted baby to the range. I am sure it will have as much fun as I will.

Congrats!
Tulsa is such a great show.

Okay enough about you. I know I am not the only one curious about what kind of Cannon your 8 y/o wanted. :D

Yeah mom, had a good time, except dad spend my cannon money on a *sign* 'nuther handgun....

:D

Well, the 8 year old daughter does want a canon. I can't believe it, what a girl! 1st a table top she saw first, then bigger, bigger and you can guess. She actually wanted one that a guy shoots golf balls from. I have to admit, for a few seconds, I thought it would also be fun, until I saw the price tag....

For the Tulsa show, I have to say.... this was prob the worst one I've been to. I am not a "cowboy" shooter and there was a lot of those weapons. A friend wanted me to pick up one of those plastic paddle holsters for a glock 21. I only found 1 table with one, there used to be gobs of them. I did not find any of the new Cor-Bon ammo a friend wanted me to pick up, only gobs of re-loads. I have always enjoyed the show because there was about anything you want, there.

As far as price for a 1911, there were some really high dollar ones. If it says "Colt", open your wallet wide! Kimber is about the same, but I did not see a Kimber over 2 thou like the Colts. I did see some new 1911's for 4 bills, they were made after the original design with the lanyard loop. I really cannot remember the manufacturer.
The Kimber I bought had a tag of 920.00, I did not pay close to that. I will say though, I sold/swapped my glock 22 for parts, that knocked the price down considerably, after tax and 3 whole percent for debit card, I payed 650. If you look at my other post on the glock slide, you'll know why.
I did get some new plinking Winchester 45's for 11 bucks a box. I have not seen that price in a long time. All in all, we had a good time. Kiddo was pointing out all kinds of guns she wanted. That darn pink .22 keeps rearing it's ugly head. She hits about every can and target with her laminated Chipmunk now, why that ugly pink gun? Girls I guess?

Yea, and while we were there..... someone took a .410 in the head. You would think a gun show would be a safe place as everything is checked and banded. Accidents will happen you know..

You're raising your daughter well! Keep up the good work  ...and w/ Christmas just around the corner, you never know, that cannon just might be in her future  :D
