I've had a S&W 1911 PD for several years. It's a scandium framed LW commander size that came with factory laser grips. https://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/archive-model-sw1911pd-1
For some strange reason I shoot it much more accurately than normal for a iron sighted pistol. I don't use the laser at the range.
I can shoot this little gal as well as my TRP or my other S&W full sized 1911 of the same era.
A while back I was at the range doing some drills and had a squib. I stupidly did the tap, rack, bang and bulged the barrel.
I just had a local smith replace the barrel with an Ed Brown.
The pistol is even more accurate than it was. At the range this week, after not shooting this pistol for a couple of years, I put the first eight rounds inside a 2" square at 12 yards during rapid fire. For me that's pretty good shooting.
She's now back in the carry rotation, which isn't much of a rotation since I carry this pistol 99% of the time.
