Colt Commander LW or S&W 1911 Scandium?

I can see that another 1911 style 45acp may be in my near future and it will be commander-sized (4 1/4" barrel) frame of a light weight metal, either aluminum for Colt or scandium for S&W.

So help me out here, do y'all see much meaningful differences between the two choices?

If you are comparing stock out of the box pistols, the S&W is hands down better made and more accurate than the Colt.

I Love my Smith

no way would I consider a Colt over the S&W , BTW - the Sc frame makes it a dream carry weapon in terms of weight ...with no controlability issues whatsoever.

I have both a S&W Gunsite pistol and a stock new Colt Commander. I can tell you that both are excellent, reliable, accurate pistols. I'm not sure I could choose between the two. You will not be disappointed with either one.

Colt vs S&W

I have an older Commander- It's my favorite pistol. That does not mean that I don't look longingly at the beautiful Sc S & W.
