My 3” Stratford Bulldog .44 that I just had rebuilt and reblued at the factory, and my Stratford Undercover .38. I just got the Undercover for $140...score!

A 6 inch .357 Stratford that I got last year, unfired in box, and a 4 inch .357 with a pretty purple blued frame that I call Purple Pain.

I also have the .32 Professional, but that thing has the problem sights and doesn't deserve a place in this thread.

Nice, so Charter does a good job with working on Stratford models I take it? What was it doing that made you have it sent in?

Here are my two carry pieces.

I keep buying big heavy guns, but within a couple of weeks I gravitate back to something easier on my back.

The .45 acp Pitbull on the bottom has become a travel companion on the road. Generally, i carry a .45 Shield or a full size 1911 when we go on road trips. I like .357 for hikes, but I'm not keen on touching one off in a car cabin if I dont have to. The Pitbull offers a great back up that uses the same ammo as the gun on me. My wife is not a shooter at all, but standard pressure .45 out of the Pitbull is not bad. The revolver stays close at hand in the console as a gun much faster into action than the pistol I am sitting on, and I feel it is safer to keep a double action revolver out and about instead of fiddling getting a chambered pistol off my belt and into a holster in my console. I bring along the two mags I carry with my CCW, the PB loaded, and a box of .45 next to it.

The Undercover is the little gun that could. I had sworn off .38 snubbies as I tend to shoot them poorly unless I step up to a steel frame .357. The UC offers me a gun that is quite a bit lighter than something like an SP101, but the steel frame makes me shoot it just a bit better. ARX ammo out of this gun is cloverleaf accurate at 7-10 yards, and the DAO trigger puts the 642 trigger I had to shame. I will even go so far as to say I like it better than my LCR because I dont tend to short stroke it. Great combination of practicality: Steel where it needs it, polymer where it doesnt. No frills but dead on accurate and reliable. It's actually what I have in my pocket today.

I am starting to see a pattern shaping up here.

The Big and The Small...

shoebox1.1, you might just have to get your Undercover a big brother...!

My apologies for posting on a picture thread with no pics... I will do so as soon as I am able. Thanks.

I've liked Charter Arms since 77 Sunset Strip era. Unfortunately I keep buying them and giving them to relatives. However I will take care of that soon.

I also have a Professional that shoots 4 inches low at five yards. I have sent it in twice and it still isn’t right. Very disappointing...

The .45 colt Bulldog is on my very short list...if I dont buy a boomer first. No more guns until 2021 for me though. I'm tapped out:D

Fiv3r... I know that feeling. Truck needing tires trumps the desire to expand the firearm family. Until I can figure out a way to drive my firearms to work... they will just have to wait.
