What's your favorite .22 Long Rifle (handgun, rifle, whatever) that you own? This is just for fun, so let's not argue about whether the .22 is sufficient for self-defense against body-armor wearing bears or something. Add some pictures and keep the thread rolling! :D

Here's mine. At this point, I've worn the anodizing from the aluminum frame and replaced the extractor once because it was so worn from the thousands of .22s that I've shot through it. I've used it to introduce five people to shooting. It is perfect for a day of relaxing fun at the range.

IMG_0273.jpg Here is my favorite .22 revolver. It's almost a rifle , for fun like I to set clays on the backstop berm on our local club range ... 50 yard shot at a 4" target. Quite achievable with bench rest. Much harder but still doable unsupported.

One of Smith and Wesson's high achievements.

Whichever one I'm holding at the time. I don't think I could pick a favorite. One contender might be my 63-3, but I've never even shot it yet.

I have two Marlin 99M1 carbines, a Henry, two Ruger Mk-II pistols, a Single-Six, two HRR revolvers, and several others. I doubt I could nail down one or tow favorites; they run the gamut of gun types and qualities.

Well they're like kids, you kind of don't have a favorite but you kind of do.

My favorite- marlin 39 made in 1957.

My rifle for winning bets with my buddies and making way more expensive rifles look bad. Martini cadet rebarreled in the 60s (I'm told) with a Remington match master barrel and a funky thumb lever.

My favorite for screwing around and shooting cans and squirrels (if you don't like this one you'll need your head checked) savage 72

My favorite 22 pistol- mk3

I took all these pictures fresh right now- they aren't recycled! See, I do love you guys.

If this thread gets going I'll go to my other safe and get some of my less favorites.

who made those flame maple 1911 grips?

I did.:)
Bell Forest blank knife scales are a bit too narrow to fill out the Taurus grip, but fit fine on a properly spec’ed 1911. This one being a very inexpensive Chiappa.
My first pistol, in fact.
And the rimfire love affair began...

Nice looking Ruger .

Ruger Bearcat: I always admired my mother's Bearcat, so when the opportunity came my way I picked one up. One of my younger brothers has Mom's letter gun, mine was built a bit later in 1965. This little six shooter is just plain fun to shoot, and is a great teaching tool as it is the perfect size for smaller/younger hands.

Winchester Model 67: Dad's first gun, according to him he bought it used in 1942 from the owner of the local cab company for the princely sum of $7 (a lot of money for a 10 year old kid back then). It has had an untold number of rounds put through it, he took it out every time he went shooting and I do the same. The stock has been refinished a couple of times and most of the bluing has faded but it still shoots good.

I really want a Browning SA-22. My friend has one that his dad bought decades ago. It's a Belgian-made rifle, and it handles so very nicely.

On an unrelated note, that picture in the original post dates back to the days of the Ye Olde .22 Long Rifle Shortage. At the time the picture was taken, that bulk ammo was probably worth more than the Buck Mark.:D
