I wouldn't try it either. I'm surprised at the results though. The resulting fire formed case was pretty cool.

while the video's like this are fun to watch I have to wonder how many are going to "just have to" run out and try this now themselves.

This ranks a little ways down the list of idiocy and danger factor.
I can think of a few wildfires caused by tannerite stupidity would rank significantly higher even though the perceived danger (at the time) was much less.
You will never, ever contain wanton foolishness so don’t even start trying to blame a lone internet video for being some kind of cause to it.

The video and article were already published. I didn't create them and I don't apologize for posting it. I simply said that I wouldn't want to try it. What others do is their own responsibility to enjoy or suffer consequences. That being said, I watched the video and didn't see what I was expecting.
I notice the single barrel shotgun is the old NEF type and quite thick. I just wonder if the results would have been worse had it been a thinner barrel like a modern semi auto. Maybe not. Too dangerous to find out anywhere close in proximity.

Just like shooting a 30-30 in a .410. I have seen that done firsthand. No I didn’t try it, and would not try this mess.

I have heard of using 16 gauge shotshells fired in a 14 gauge Martini police/riot gun by just wrapping the case with a layer of tape.
Now that the 50 bmg is fireformed I wonder how a saboted bullet would work in the shotgun using that case?

I have seen discussions about "Could you shoot a .50BMG out of a shotgun without blowing it up" floating around the past few months. Idle hands and all.
Recognizing that this was not all that dangerous because of the free space in the bore it still displays some degree of danger in that it gives some not so bright folks ideas of other types of experiments that could be a lot more problematic. That plus it serves no purpose makes me put a thumbs down on the execution of the idea.

There are a lot of these videos on YT and it seems they are either running out of idiotic things to do for views or trying to 'one-up' some other you-tuber'
edwin sarkissian is a good example..he is entertaining, I guess, but last video he threw a live hand grenade into the guts of an ATM, that still had money in it..

My favorite numb skull you tuber was the guy who shot the pickup filled with Tannerite. When it exploded the door skin flew off and became a literal saw blade that whipped past the guy before he could even react. Eight inches to the right and that hunk of metal would have cut him in half like a deli slicer.
