Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

This is the view from our patio door.

Soybeans.
If you want to change scenery......look north. Corn.
It may not be too scenic, but its a pretty good workplace.
Last night I attended to a dog alert in my sweet corn patch with this.View attachment 939956 .
Hope the corn and soybeans equals lots of $$$$. Farmers across the country got hit again!!

Is the sweet corn a cash crop or personal consumption planting?

Miss that midwest sweet corn :D

Nice Ruger 22lr. Which model?

The sweet corn is for the family and the freezer only.
We raise about 1500a of yellow corn primarily bound for poultry feeders in the SE states, some local feed, some ethanol.
1500a of soybeans for meal in feed rations, a variety of food products from ADM in Decatur, Illinois. Some eventually make it all the way to the gulf ports for export.

The ruger is my old MKII bull barrel.

Love the Ruger! I have a S&W Victory. Bought it then Ruger came out with the MK4. I just wanted something easier to disassemble and clean.

Have a good safe harvest!

I really enjoyed Myakka park.
You should google 'snook haven' and 'Linger Longer Lounge' while you're in the area.
My next .380 may be the LCP II.
Didn't have much time today to check out Snook Haven. We are staying in Orlando.

Went to see a few friends today and meet at Myakka.

Going to stay on the Gulf for Thanksgiving so we will look at Snook Haven that trip!
Thanks for the advice!

FYI your going to like the LCP2. A little thicker than the LCP but a better trigger. The slide will also lock back when empty with the new magazines.

That's the idea! Like a .357 only in a semi- auto. I use to hang out with a couple of guys who turned me on to 1911s in general and .38 Supers in particular. And if they were running .38 Supers they were running them hot!

I'm looking at getting something bigger again in a handgun.
10mm, 44, or 454.
Like all three for different reasons.
I have a 41 mag snubby , a couple of 357 mags, a couple of 45 acps, 38 snubby, and my favorite carry LCP2 380.

I have had a couple of 44s for hunting a SRH AND 629. Time for something new.

Wanting a hunting handgun to carry also for SD out west.
The 38 super may be fun for the range.

That's close to 357 mag!!!
Last year I decided to see if I could match a published super load that was shared with me. I got pretty close and with a 5.5" barrel like the test gun had I think I would've gotten dang close.

I consider 38 Super to be very adequate for anything up to black bear sized targets, but bullet selection is essential.

I had contemplated whether I'd trust either a 124gr xtp @1400+ or a 147gr in the 1300fps range to be effective on Ohio whitetail inside 50 yards. I do kinda wanna hunt with the 38 Super.

I'm sure that it is adequate for black bears.

I am at a point again where I look at my firearms and see if there is a gap or something that I would like to add and if I want to get rid of something.

The 40 + cal is something that I would add.
A new revolver and auto loader is in the mix:cool:

I was debating getting a 454 & a 10mm. But a 44 and 38 super 1911 may be an option.
