I like both, but I’m a little “old school”. The only semi autos I have are surplus military types because I like the history of the guns. My favorite handgun to shoot Is a Model 19 with 38 Special or light loaded .357.

Revolvers are much more fun to shoot. I love shooting Snubbies. In fact my favorite Plinker of all time is the LCR22. As Hickcock45 said when shooting a Snubbie and how fun they are to shoot, "There is just something about them". Those of us that do shoot them regularly know what he is talking about.
And for myself, they were a challenge to shoot at first. But I enjoyed the challenge, accepted it and now a lot of pride come from shooting with with proficiency that I just do not get with semi auto's.
They have in fact, made be a much better shooting with all guns.

I like to shoot anything that goes, "bang" or "boom".

Revolvers are my favorite. My stainless 6" Ruger GP100 in 357 magnum is by far my most favorite handgun to shoot..
The T/C contenders and the T/C encore are fun with the interchageable barrels.
The semi autos are fun but not as much as a good revolver.

The wheel in my hand keeps on turning....

Semi autos are boring unless doing full on rapid fire mag dumps.

My 3 most used handguns are a ruger single six, interarms Virginia dragoon in 44mag, and a colt 1917 in 45acp.

I find myself preferring to shoot revolvers at the range over semiautos as I prefer not to chase the brass.

Do you fellow reloaders feel the same way?

One of the many reasons I love shooting my Glock 44, 22LR semi-auto is that I dislike chasing brass; I don’t reload rimfire anyway, so it wouldn’t make much sense to hunt down the brass that sweet little semi-auto flings around.:D

I prefer shooting revolvers over any semi-auto. Don't know why, I just do. I've never owned a Browning Hi-Power or a good 1911 Colt, if I did own a good, all steel semi-auto I may feel differently.
I think for me it's the fine machining that goes into a good revolver that speaks to me. I love my vintage Smiths. My modern, cheap, semi-autos are strictly utilitarian and disposable to me.

I own both of those semi autos, and the HP is Belgian, and still prefer a revolver for anything but SD.

But i grew up watching westerns with my pops so I guess im a bit biased!

I have been a competitive shooter for over 40 years in both revolver and S/A and precision and action pistol games. As An instructor I'm expected to be able to shoot qualification scores with anything brought to the range either right or lefthanded!
My heart leans toward the revolver, especially a tuned DAO, Model 14 /K38, Target!

Smiles,

I understand that sentiment. I own several revolvers, and my carry is a Kahr PM9 with a very sweet, smooth DA. I think it's actually more difficult to shoot well in DA revolver, and perhaps a more perishable skill. My Kahr sure lets me know when I've been away too long.

I like them all so hard to make a call there. It is REALLY nice to not chase brass! Great to come home with exactly the same amount of brass as I took when I'm shooting my revolvers. Also, if you want something with a lot of power the revolvers are hard to be. Yes, can get a DE in .44 or .50 but they are not that common.

I shoot without worry about chasing brass. I like shooting semiautos because they're cool, and I like shooting revolvers for the same reason.
