Seeing the recent Boyd’s stock thread with the mini 14 made me want to change the plastic blah-stock to one of the laminated wood ones right away.
I liked the look of the coyote brown stock on the mini, but I didn’t want to push it with the spouse with a higher cost so I kept it basic walnut.
Popping out the little metal blocks in the factory stock took some finesse, but they did drop right into the Boyd’s with no issues. The stock bolts were cinched down as close to spec as I could make them (Slightly over 30 inch pounds) and all looks good.
I must say that the bluing on the Ruger American Rimfire is really set off by the stock, man it looks so much better than it did before.
I’m going to try to hit the range tomorrow to re-sight it in and see if it still shoots as well as it did from the factory.
Stay safe.
