While I agree the M1 Garand is obsolete as to what we have available today I guess we can say the same about a 66 GTO or 66 Corvette but I would not mind having either anymore than having a nice M1 Garand. I ride a 92 Harley which I like and there are plenty of newer better bikes to choose from. While I agree as a fighting rifle today the Garand is well out classed but as far as having a nice rifle the Garand, like the classic cars or motorcycles will always have their place. However, it is nice with a Garand or M14 to be able to reach out and touch well beyond the effective range of an M16.I’d love to see your explanation as to how my post was obscure, unclear or unintelligent. Let me make it as simple as humanly possible for you. The M1 Garand is completely and totally outclassed by more modern options. I’m sorry that you are stuck in 1942, but the rest of the world has moved on and now uses weapons far superior to the Garand and we have been doing so for decades. The Garand is OBSOLETE as a fighting rifle. Period.
