Does your carry rig change with the seasons?

As the season changes, so does my carry. With cooler weather and increased clothing I go from an IWB subcompact to a mid size OWB carry.

My summer carry this year was a Springfield Hellcat 9MM and I moved to a Glock 32 .357 Sig. Since the temps are dropping, it’s easier for me to carry a larger pistol. I also like the increased energy of the .357 Sig to help defeat layers possibly worn by a perp.

Does anyone else change carry rigs as the weather changes or am I just an oddball?

I have LONG done this, change per dress. My favorite has always been a GM 1911. Its of course a lot easier in colder weather. So its pretty common for me to "settle" for smaller when the weather is warmer. I did many years ago find I like the vests sold for things like photographers for when weather is warmer. They are light material and make it so I can still carry the full size a lot more even when its warm.

No. I dont switch anything up. Same gun, same place, same spare mag location. Only occasionally have a new holster, that goes into the same place.
I match my attire to the gun and carry method not the other way around

My shirt is untucked all year, if its cool I wear a sweatshirt.
Glock 19 minimum, alternatively a Glock 22 or 20SF ... in the heat, in a "good area" where I don't think I "need" it. (yea, even walking the big dogs).
So no, my carry doesn't change with seasons, or area - carry the "bad area" gun everywhere. ;)

When wearing a sufficiently-full-cut cover garment, I can enjoy the increased comfort of using holsters that do not ride so high, or as closely to my body. I do not, necessarily, carry a smaller weapon in warmer weather, and a larger weapon in cooler weather.

A longer-cut cover garment does, of course, simplify carrying a longer-barreled weapon, but barrel length can be independent of the weapon’s frame size.

For the warmer weather months it's my Kahr CM9 or my S&W Model 638, carried in a DeSantis Sof-Tuck IWB holster. When it gets colder out and I'm wearing a vest, a jacket, or a heavy coat then I might go with something a bit larger like a Colt Commander, a Ruger SR9c, a CZ P01, or a SIG P229 in an OWB holster. I have a Bianchi Minimalist which works with several different handgun models and an older Bianchi Askins Avenger which is great with any size 1911. For the others I have found DeSantis makes a decent, well fitting OWB holster with their E-Gat, L-Gat, Mini Slide, and Mini Scabbard designs.

Always the same for me. I don't like the idea of needing to split up my practice to cover 2 different firearms, but I'm someone who normally removes my coat and walks around in a t-shirt indoors in the winter anyway.

I'm pretty sure Paul Harrel did a bit that dispelled the myth about heavier clothing needing a larger caliber and it was more about picking the right ammo (ballistic tip vs straight hollow point) for your carry gun.

Sometimes. I live in Alabama so on particularly hot days I may not want to carry 30+ oz worth of gun and ammo. So I will carry something similar but smaller.
