New York hunters

Good luck everyone and stay safe. I think I paid up to jim I can't remember lol.
I may not get out in the morning since I may not be able to borrow the car, think I my get with my buddy for the afternoon tho.

Just got up, Bert will be here in half an hour.
It sucks if you can't get out early on the first day. Can you get dropped off and then get picked up later?
I will be using my H&R 243 Handi-Rifle until we hit the range up in Greene to shoot my 243 Remington 788.
I will be loading up test rounds for it when things slow down here.
There should be some dead deer here shortly.
Post pictures when you guys get them and good luck everyone.

I shot a spike at arround 2:45 pm not huge but has decent size. The drag out was about a quarter mile uphill. The logging roadi went in on was a mud pit with standing water in places soo had to stay away from that I cut back through the woods and came out right behind my car, only problem was there was a 3 ft culvert close to the road and cut up logs just inside the woods, so guess who fell into the culvert, rifle went into mud almost lost the detachable mag. Then had to lift my deer over the logs and up the other side of the culvert. Have to clean the rifle, savage m11 243 win, and recheck it's zero before it can go back into the woods, but it get its first blood. Load was 100 gr Hornady btdp on fed case over 39.8 gr of h4350 at 2.67 in. 20211121_143533.jpg

I have twenty 280 cases for your father.
Have you been seeing any deer down your way?
I seen a nice big eight point about half an hour ago.

I'd rather have a smaller buck or a doe for the freezer.
That doe I shot got it up in 7J Area. We have been seeing a lot of deer but either to small or bad shots to take.

We may try to get out this afternoon, dads appointment at the VA was cancelled so I may stay longer then Friday. His birthday is Friday so would be nice to go out then. If not to busy we like to go out thanksgiving morning for a few hours.

If Bert can get out Thursday we should get together and try push the woods again over at Bumps Creek state land.

We went to Walmart in Johnson City then had lunch at the Cracker Barrel in Binghamton.
On the way back to Jim we seen four does by the Port Crane fire department by the Chenango Valley State Park and a half a mile up 369 there was a small four point.
We will be heading out here shortly.
