Thought I'd share some data about inexpensive 'blammo ammo' that is fun range fodder.
I have a Canik with a 5" barrel and a Carbine with a 10.5" barrel. I wanted to come up with a load to use in both. It had to be strong enough to reliably cycle the Canik and still be subsonic in the Carbine.

What I ended up with is 3.8 grains of HP38 under a 147 grain bullet. It's just range brass of all different brands, along with mil surplus I got in a 5 gallon bucket. Bullets are Berrys 147 grain plated and RMR 147 grain FMJ. In the carbine, the Berrys don't group very well, as I believe they are getting a little fast. RMR does better.

Anyway, fired 5 rounds through each gun through a chrono today. Results are below. Loudest part of the carbine is the action moving!

Pistol
988
987
998
983
983

Carbine
1080
1074
1093
1090
1081

Pretty happy with it, as it seems to work great in both guns. Just need to use the RMR projectiles in the Carbine. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else is looking for a similar load to use.

try this calculator, I like Power Factor numbers

https://www.dillonprecision.com/power-factor-calculator.html

I don't shoot competition. Was just looking for a load with a good amount of umph to bang steel plates with, cycle a gun that likes warm ammo and still be quiet in the Carbine. For widely mixed brass, it seems pretty consistent and works well. With the bullets and primers at around a dime each, and a couple pennies worth of powder... it comes to around $0.22 per round, or $11 per 50 rounds. If ammo prices keep coming down while reloading supplies go up, pretty soon it going to be cheaper to buy than load!

Power factor can give you an idea of your load relative to say .40 load or if you want the load 115-9mm but want the same power as 147-9mm that your loading

Moving kind of slow.

I was pleasantly surprised with how well HP38/231 does in 9mm. It won't give max velocities, but my most accurate loads use it.

I have Power Pistol, AA5 and BE86, but I keep coming back to HP38/231 for the 9mm.

Haven’t really played with HP38 much in 9MM but I have plenty of lbs laying around for future testing.

I’ve been using Longshot lately in 9MM range ammo and that powder is readily available still.

My one 9mm load to rule them all as far as 115gr ammo goes is 5.5gr of general dynamic CBI (burns like universal but is more fluffy). Gives me about 1,250fps with around 10fps SD.
HP38 is my go to for 230gr HP 45acp silencer ammo.

my 147 gr powder coated and plated seem to be most accurate around 950-960s fps with unique 3.6gr or AA#5 5 grains, around 1000fps i becomes less accurate this was out of a 5.25 xdm. i just use the same load in all my 9mm guns. i was watching a video on berrys 147 gr plated with cfe pistol and the load was accurate and again ran around 960 fps.

anybody ever load a 95gn into a 9mm case??

7.5gn Autocomp going 1525. I backed it off to 7.0gn going 1450

I load for most accurate in each gun and I’m currently loading for 5 9’s and make 3 loads. The most accurate in 2 of them is a 124 gold dot over 5.2 grains of be-86, and the one I shoot the most of is just under 5 grains of be-86 over a 124 cast and coated Lee 124 2R.

I did. And found no reason to continue doing so. You can load 380 bullets so fast they fly apart when they hit something. Didn't appear to offer any advantage over 115gr.
Seem to have pretty substantial point of aim change over standard 9x19 loadings.

I use 2 ‘standard’ powders for my 9’s; Ramshot True Blue and for really inexpensive shooting, Hodgdon 700X - about 1.5¢ per round

9mm 147gr HiTek Coated over 3.2gr of TiteGroup, shoots about 970fps, cheap and easy

I load these by the 1000s. They are soft shooting and overall pretty cheap. I set the COAL based on "plunk" the shortest chamber I have which is my M&P Compact 2 w/ 4" barrel so it will run in everything. Also seem to shoot alright in my buddies CZ's which is notoriously short. The only change I might make is when my TG is gone, I will swap to N320 as it burns a little cooler and cleaner. I also shoot 147 XTPs for defensive ammo, and these shoot the exact same those, so I can train with cheap bullets.

Ive messed about with countless others, but Ive found that overall the 147s are nicest to shoot.

4.2gr HP-38 and a Berry's 124gr plated RN shoots very well in my 9mm pistols and the Ruger PC Carbine 9mm. I have a lb of TiteGroup I was going to play with as well, but I like the HP-38 load a lot.

4.2 grains of HP-38 under 124 grain RMR RN @ 1.12 (liked 1.13 better, but shortened so it would fit in all czs).

they just came out with a new hollow point bullet that I plan to do some testing. If I get good results, I may just use that going forward and have one ‘hotter’ round and one target round.

4.2 of W231/HP38 under RMR 124 RN or 4.0 of Sport pistol under the same is my go to for all my 9mm range ammo. I think I like Sport Pistol a little better, but W231/HP38 is hard to beat. I have more powder than primers these days so no danger in running out of either any time soon.

I also like 4.2 grains of Win 231 under 124 gr XTreme FMJ RN.

I’ll buy some RMR 124’s or 135’s when I run through the XTremes.

I’m also going to try swapping over to CFE Pistol. A lady who is a seasoned competitor and reloader and a die-hard W231 user swapped over to CFE Pistol and says she likes it better due to better groups and cleaner burning.

Both powders have been pretty available here.

My friend is a big “Unique” fan, but that is unobtainable so far for me.

I'm a Power Pistol guy, but when my current inventory is exhausted I was thinking about True Blue. I haven't seen any Power Pistol for sale during this shortage.

True Blue has worked well in everything I’ve tried and it meters very well in my antique Ideal 55. If, rarely, I over-trickle some I can scoop out 0.1gn easily with whatever Lee dipper is handy.
