Do you admire your guns while watching TV ?

No I can't admit to ever doing that......I do however pull a few of them out while at my workbench, clean and relube them, whether they need it or not, then set them all out where I can sit back and admire them while consuming an adult beverage. I very seldom if ever have my guns out in the open in the house.

Do you ever lay a few of your guns in front of the TV to admire during the commercials?
What are commercials? Just kidding... but ever since the daughter got me into streaming and I found out that I could watch networks shows after their original broadcast date without commercials, well. But sometimes you gotta have something to do during those freakin' ads for toenail fungus treatment (as if us old folks that watch Gunsmoke and Bonanza late at night all have it?)
I have for years and I suspect I'm not the only one...
I suspect you'd be correct.

All I know is that when TCM shows an old Humphrey Bogart movie at night, I'm inspired to look at the Colt 1903, 1908, Detective Special and Police Positive... And when the Dirty Harry flicks cycle through again, well, you already know...

Maybe it's an age thing -- the older one gets, the less one shoots but the more one just looks at one's guns, admiring them for the artistic aspect or for sentimental at associations...

I rotate through a few different types of guns every day and use the TV as part of my dryfire practice while watching it. Great practice (the targets are fleeting and you have to be quick) and very much stress relieving, especially during the news and political ads. :)

I have a holstered gun on me watching tv (same as everywhere else) if that counts as a version of "admire".
Is CDW4ME suggesting one carries at home, even in a good area? Yup.
My next suggestion is carry something decent* (my definition of decent is 7+ rounds of 9mm or larger)

Sort of, sometimes if I set myself up with some food in the living room or bedroom or am watching TV I'll lay a gun out beside my stuff, or if I'm mowing the lawn or weed wacking when I stop to take a break I'll pull my revolver or pistol off my hip and point it at a spot on a tree and practice my draw and see how fast to target and steady I can be, and if you're weed wacking that's especially hard with all the vibration going through your hands even after you stop and take a break.

I know what you mean, I guess I just do it differently, judging from the avatar you have guns that are actually worth admiration, :D. Me, I just like my guns even though they're mostly ugly

I don’t currently watch tv. Though sometimes I watch movies. I don’t have to be in front of the idiot box to enjoy looking at my guns. I often admire one or more of my guns, and my knives too. I been known to take a gun outside and watch the yard (deer, critters, birds) in the evenings. Just spend time with a firearm I like. That gets me in the notion to shoot. That thought brings me to reloading.

I often have the gun handily on the bench when reloading. Sorta a reminder.

While going thru my 30-06 ammo, I have my Ruger No. 1B on the bench. What an elegant rifle Ruger built then! It's my only remaining '06 and it's staying.
Guess I'll take it to the desert with me next time. That's my admiration.

Jeff Cooper wrote about keeping an unloaded rifle with him while watching the "televisor". Whenever a commercial came on he would wait for an "O" to appear and then try to snap shoot it before it disappeared. I do recall him noting that Coors commercials were especially entertaining.

No, I don't actually take guns out unless I'm doing gun things. If I have time to watch TV, my kid is almost always home too. Rule is, he doesn't have access to his guns to just take out to look at, and when they're out, there's no phones, tablets, or other distractions on his end. I'm not much of a "Do as I say, not as I do" type...so I abide by the same.

But I also don't own anything as neat or pretty as the OP's stuff.

Now folks think you’re a crazy gun nut if you snap your gun at the tv.

My kids learned to work the bolt while dry firing and reload their FR8's with strippers loaded with dummies in front of the TV as kids. Whatever we were watching on TV was the target material.

A family that dry fires together, shoots together. :)

I dont generally mix my multi media and guns anymore, i do spend way more time playing with and admiring them than i do shooting or cleaning, just usually i try to practice something like positioning, trigger control, or presentation when playing with the guns.

When I did watch TV i usually cleaned my guns at the table while watching. It made a task im not a real fan of go faster, and gave me something to do during the commercials.
No cleaning guns is done standing at my bench, faster more efficient, less enjoyable......but i can go play video games sooner....
