I don't know. But I'd guess that someone has mentioned to him that the vast majority of "gun violence" is committed using handguns. And that 9mm is the most common handgun cartridge used.

Funny though, how he seems to suggest that a .22 is a good option for self defense because it might not kill, but a 9mm will "blow lungs out" and therefore kill, which means it's not good for self defense? Obviously he doesn't understand how handgun bullets factor in to self defense usage. He probably thinks a .22 will stop anyone because it would hurt, or something equally ignorant.

How could we forget his recommendation for just “buy a shotgun”. A lot more damage than the 9mm.

Biden says inflammatory crap like this just to poke Americans in the eye, then “they” watch social media. “They” are taking names and notes about everyone who mouths off, makes threats of noncompliance and makes outright threats. Biden is attempting to do as he’s told and his most recent comments have no other logical explanation except to bring “their” enemies to the surface. All JMO of course.
