Several years ago a local gun store/indoor range had one in their rental list,,,
Two years in a row for my birthday I rented it with 250 rounds of ammo.

I've wanted one, or at least been intrigued by one,,,
Since I first saw them used on the Stargate Atlantis TV series.

I even bought a poster of a "Wraith" critter,,,
Just to make the experience more fun.

With those 50 round magazines it doesn't take very long to burn through 250 rounds of ammo,,,
I honestly don't think I was on the firing line more than 12-15 minutes.

I could never make myself buy one though,,,
Even though I believe it is the ideal personal protection rifle.

The ammo just costs way too much for my wallet,,,
But I was sorely tempted by a used one I saw at a pawn shop.

1955 my winchester model 63 22lr,had lots of fun with it.

When I was on the job we had a Colt made Thompson deluxe cutts compensator and royal bluing with a stick magazine after in service we would get our monthly allotment of practice ammo and go to the steel plates. Had a lot of fun with that Thompson.

MP40 and M2 browning. Both very satisfying.

I got to fire a M120 120mm mortar, for work, didn't even have to go to boot-camp. Unfortunately they did not let me take one home...

Closer to home, my Winchester 9410 lever action 410 shotgun (based on the Winchester 1894 action) is probably the most fun I have had with a shotgun.

Rifle wise, I would have to say my suppressed 9-inch 300 BO pistol.

Handgun, without at doubt shooting USPSA with my S&W 625. Nothing's better than beating the filthy bottom feeders with the noble round gun.

But really, anytime I am at the range, or in the woods with a gun I am almost always having fun.

Most fun I've ever shot...M134 Dillon every 6 months for qualification.

Most fun I own...I built a custom bolt action rifle for my son who is now 13. I started the project when he was 8 months old. He received it this year as a "coming of age" gift for his 13th birthday. It's chambered in 7mm-08 and the serial number is his initials and birthdate. Anyway, we took it to the range soon after his birthday and he shot it for the first time. The recoil was a bit rough for him (he's on the small side and this is the biggest caliber he's fired), but after I put one of my .30 suppressors on it, he turned around after the first suppressed shot with a big grin on his face and it was all worth it. That was definitely a fun day.

Probably when I bought a 500 S&W BFR, the first shot was so brutal (handloads) it was actually funny and I couldn't stop laughing. I tried shooting an AR with bumpstock but I found it awkward, either way it was fun.

Barrett .50 firing armor-piercing incendiary was super cool. One-handing an M60 like Rambo for a hundred rounds was probably tops though. LOL

It's pretty boring, really. You are standing in CIC, you get the "weapons released" word, and you tell the GM/1 or GMC manning the gunnery station "Execute." Said worthy then presses the button and you hear a klaabloom from far away.
On the few remaining manned turrets, the Pointer and the trainer just keep the firing foot pedal depressed as long as the target in in the sights (if in direct fire mode). The Crack-Bang is a bit more immediate for those guys as they are riding right next to the tube.

The chainguns and CIWS might as well be video games. Computers tell you where the target s, how the mount is pointing, and the status, and Engagement type Selected. A GM just presses the button when directed.

My fave is easy: Sterling L2A3. Light, handy, nimble--a real joy to hump through a shoot house on or off the clock.

Mind a stocked MP-5 is close, very close, second (stock is really a lot better; but a Sterling magazine wins).

True, but being a loader on a CIWS is pretty fun. I was standing by the aft towing bit on a 378' CG cutter when the CIWS let go and the vibration through the tow bit was exhilarating.

I fired one of those AP Incendiary HP(I Think) and it ate those steel like butter on a hotdog!

don’t be a party pooper… I never shot a navel gun and probably never will. I’ll just imagine it’s cool like the movies

H&K Mp5k PDW. I trained with and carried one for almost a decade on warrants and escorting/protecting dignitaries and threatened witnesses, victims and prosecutors..



It takes a while to learn to control, but once you have put a few thousand down the barrel it becomes like a part of you.

Suppressed 22LR might just be#1.. Holy crap is that fun. I've shot a full auto AK, didn't give me the same smile factor as the silence.

Just a couple of old .22 rifles, I guess.

The 10/22 and M1 Carbine. 10/22 because it was the first gun I ever shot and it's so cheap and easy to shoot. The M1 Carbine because M1 Carbine.

Probably a muzzleloading 4 bore rifle - though what I considered fun in my 30s probably wouldn't be quite as much fun now...

If I had to pick just one, MG42, but its a tough choice.

Of the three SMG's Ive owned, sold, and kinda wish I had back, a German MP40. Sold it to a buddy so at least I still get visiting rights.

Most fun centerfire is likely my RDB. But rimfires are generally for me the most fun. This JBM Bullpup conversion of a 1967 Ruger 10/22 is more fun than the rest of my .22s. But the GSG-5 under it comes close.

That Gun in Beat Up!!! what did you do to it?

An M1A1 Thompson. Stopped a charging refrigerator in its tracks. I'd have one but I live in Illinois.

Most fun gun that I own is my C-96 Broomhandle. Never fails to draw a crowd at the range.
