Springfield M1A-1
The only M1A1 I know of is an Abrams tank. Springfield makes an M1a.
Springfield M1A-1
No.How about the basics?
My friend does not often shoot his guns.
Is his Springfield M1A-1 (nib in 2021) considered the most reliable & most Durable ‘current’ brand being produced now?
A Yes or No is enough info. I’m simply curious.

Does anyone reload for the M1A?
I was looking at the technical data on the Bula website and, as typical with new gun makers, they are listing all kinds of problems using reloads. Just wondering if someone reloads for the M1A without problems. What do you want to know?

Good advice! This might be a good subject for a thread in the Reloading section... not to gum up the OP's thread.
There is nothing to working up good handloads for any rifle, to include the M1a and it's variants. If a rifle is having a specific problem, it is likely the rifle, per se, not necessarily the ammunition... reloads not withstanding.

Also: at various times Springfield has called certain of their variants "M1A-A1" which has caused confusion https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/springfield-armory-m1a-a1-scout-squad-semi-auto-rifleThe only M1A1 I know of is an Abrams tank. Springfield makes an M1a.
I don't mean to hijack this thread. I have been wanting a M1A for decades and as soon as I got on the Bula Defense website for the first time tonight it was game over. I ordered Bula Defense M21 DMR with a 22" National Match barrel on Gunbroker. Midway has Redding dies on sale so those are on the way. Any suggestions for .308 ammo for loaded ammo until I can get powder, primers, and bullets on the way?
I have a good problems today.

Will do.Glad I started the thread then!
Pics and range report when you get it, please
Well as mentioned the Federal Gold Medal Match in either 168 or 175 grain HPBT (Sierra Bullets) has always worked for me off the shelf. When rolling my own I like the Sierra 168 grain boat tail match bullets and CCI BR 2 primers. and my first choice for powder is Accurate 2495 powder which has worked well in my M1A. This load data parallels the Hornady load data for service rifle. Just make sure you scroll down to the .308 Winchester load data on the page. The late Glen D. Zediker wrote dome really good dope on loading for the M14 / M1A. Since there is such a wide range of powders and bullets my advice is see what works best in your own gun.I don't mean to hijack this thread. No. SAI's rifles have never been regarded as the best semiauto M14 you can buy. That distinction has largely been held by LRB Arms, at least from what I've gleaned over the years. How about the basics?

LORD that looks cold!I use mine for year round hunting here in the Arctic.
While the Finn M-39 is still close to my heart, the sights on the M1A work alot better with my ageing eyes these past few years.
Meats, Furs and the occasional Bear, I like to have that extra range for my wide open world.
