CVA double barrel

SxS muzzleloading shotguns don't show up on the used market anywhere near as often as rifles and they usually sell pretty quick.
What's it worth? at least a few hundred bucks if it's in decent shape.
Expect it to sell for more than a similar quality rifle, and not just because it has 2 barrels.
These days it could be "worth" a lot more than it used to be.

I've seen them on GB several times, average price around 400.00. They don't stay there long. For the most part they are good solid shotguns.

CVA never made anything. They were an importer. They were made in Spain.

About 8-10 years back I saw a CVA over under in .50 cal at a LGS. A little rough. $360. Not a shotgun but a price point.

I’ve never seen a CVA side by side for sale and I’m pretty active on a couple of for sale internet sites for last 10+ Years.

Double barrel Howda sound COOL!

Brown finish is call browning. It's like bluing but brown.

blueing is also rusting, but controlled

I like a nice buffed rusty gun

I have a CVA SxS 12 gauge I built from a kit. Nice gun. Shoots well. I added a butt plate, entry thimble and some checkering. Browned the hardware except locks which are polished inside and out. No idea what it's worth.

I have been looking at some 10 gauge double kits but at almost $1200 it's to much.

You can get shootable originals for a lot less.

I got the kit in a trade from a guy who bit off more than he could chew about 35 years ago. I use a period correct metal butt plate. Just uses the regular size nipples for #11 caps.

12 gauge.
