Colorado to introduce Assault Weapons ban including semi-auto pistols & shotguns

My prediction: bill will make it to Polis & he doesn’t sign it. Bill goes back to the house, veto is overridden & goes into law. Polis will run for potus & he’ll say “I support 2A, I vetoed gun reform legislation.” Our governor is a chameleon & changes his colors as needed to blend in. I’d love to contact my representatives in office, unfortunately there’s no one in Colorado’s current legislature that represents my beliefs.

If I remember correctly, some versions of Broomhandle Mausers had fixed magazines, loaded from the top, possibly with stripper clips.

Or were those the full auto variants? Either way, I guess there will not be a run on those.

I wonder if there will be workarounds like some states do with featureless AR's, lock the mags in semi-auto pistols and load from above?

I couldn't read the bill itself, are existing guns grandfathered in?

The California of Colorado continues.
Welcome to our world -- the new normal.

Can't say we're surprised, right? Same thing is happening here -- Gov. Jay and AG Bob had a pre-written AWB ready to drop when the legislature convened today for the new session. Heck, even 10/22s, Marlin Model 60s and semi-auto shotguns will be off the table. And with the mag capacity restrictions, it's only a matter of time before the anti faction goes after semi-auto pistols.

Oregon is staring down heinous new laws as well. It all started on the coasts and continues to spread inland.

Good thing I have my lever action rifles, they're safe!
No. No, they are not. The other side simply continues to change definitions of words and terms, that's how they roll. Keep moving the goalposts while we all celebrate field goals instead of touchdowns.

Our years of relative complacency are biting us in our collective derrieres.

I know read below my previous comment what I wrote.

That post was to get conversation going for all the people who think theirs is safe so why worry. Each one of these new pieces of legislation adds more and more types of firearms to it. It should be obvious to all 2A people there should be no inch given and stand together.

So when will Scotus get off the pot and not send cases back down and deliver an unambiguous statement - not a new procedure of evaluation, blah, blah - but one that says:

All bans and conditions on the ownership of semiautomatic rifles, shotguns and handguns by law abiding citizens regarding configuration and ammo capacity are unconstitutional. All bans on magazines or other feeding devices regarding their capacity are unconstitutional.

That's all they need to say.

Two old justices drop dead with Biden in office, and the bans WILL be constitutional. So act now.

Okay, here is what I've found so far:
