Neato! I have the same gun with a 5" barrel. Its fun to shoot, but ammo is a chore these days and it doesn't offer a much different experience than .38spl. No way I would pay $700 for one unless I just HAD to have one to fill a hole in a collection.
I have 3 boxes of ammo left for mine and when its gone, so is the gun. Im not going to bother loading for a sole, otherwise unremarkable revolver but others may think its worth the trouble.

that GOOD! lol

guest that why the collector dealer kinda push me away from that 32-20

This is a far cry from your Thunderstruck!
Maybe you'd be interested in trading for a HiPoint?

Great find! Hope you get to enjoy the awesomeness of classic metalwork and machines!

I’d pass on that 32 at $700. There are lots of S&W’s out there in better condition for less money. Unless you are planning on collecting K frames in all calibers or have some other specific reason to buy it rather than just because it exists.

I do like odd guns including HiPoint… but I can probably buy the whole HoPoint line with the cost of one of these guns! lol

Yes, Thundersuck SUCKS! lol

Nomenclature can be confusing as noted by the
.32-20. For instance the original nomenclature for
the ever popular .357 magnum is .357 S&W Magnum
or another, the .44 Remington Magnum and going
back to the 1911, it's .45 Automatic Colt Pistol.

32 caliber with 20 grains of Black Powder.

It is the bible for those interested in S&W handguns. Very readable cover to cover. There is a reason those geezers at gunshows who display S&W firearms have a a copy under their table!
just ordered it! can’t wait to pour a cheap bourbon and have a read

Some of those early M&Ps will be marked ".38 S&W Special & US Service Ctg" as well, indicating they were bored to accept both .38 Long Colt and .38 S&W Special.

And of course, the British Service guns will be stamped ".38/200" or ".38/145/200" meaning they were intended for the British loading of the .38 S&W round with either a 200 or 145gr. bullet.

:cuss::cuss: And just to boggle the mind, the .38 S&W is NOT the .38 S&W Special.

The cartridge/bullet dimensions are different and should NOT be interchanged (but sometimes it CAN be done).:evil:

.32-20, .38-40, and .44-40 came about because Marlin and Colt didn't want to put WCF (Winchester Center Fire) on their guns.
S&W didn't care, they did not make rifles and it was a positive selling point for the foreign copies.

Likewise .32 Colt New Police instead of .32 S&W Long.
And .38 Colt Special with the deadly flat pointed bullet, worth an extra 5% of Hatcher Stopping Power.

I think .32 SAP (Savage Automatic Pistol) takes the cake.
