Chain fire in a sixgun is startling. Chain fire in a revolver rifle or shotgun is hazardous to your health.
Got another idea for a new BP gun

I don’t think it would be all that much more dangerous. It’d certainly be a lot LOUDER! ;-)

Maybe for a one armed man but for most two hand folks a chain fire on a rifle would definitely suck.

It would definitely take out a chunk of meat if your hand was in front of the cylinder. A chain fired ball will only go a few yards but from point blank range it would do some damage.

Handgun or Long gun your parts don't belong in front of the cylinder. Period.

I don’t believe most shooters would chance a standard rifle hold on a revolving rifle.

I wouldn't. Even if a chain fire didn't get you the cylinder flash might. It would have to be light enough to hold it right in front of the trigger guard.

yep, or maybe utilize shooting sticks or other appropriate rest.

If I were going to do a new BP firearm, it would be either a repro of a Tranter or Adams revolver...or a matchlock. There's a gap in the matchlock pistol market, considering that the MLAIC has a competition for them.

I would love a repro Adams and Remington New Model Police.
I think those will come eventually, but not for many years.

I started emailing Uberti and Pietta years ago begging for a Remington Police model. I think they’d sell a boatload but what do I know…
