Why? It's not nitroglycerin.I would be more nervous about driving with that amount, given the idiocy I've witnessed on the road.

Sorry, I should have wrote "frequently", not all the time. The offer free hazmat enough that one shoudl be able to wait in between offers to avoid paying the hazmat. Last year, it seemed they offered in maybe every 6-8 weeks?Apparently not "all the time" as those are specials they run. According to their website, and my past buying experience, it's $22.99 hazmat for 1 lb. or up to 48 lbs. Here's their site info:

Hey, I drive around with eight gallons of gas in front of me, right at belly-level in my old VW bug. And not much between us. Makes the Ford Mavericks and early Mustangs look quite tame and safe. !!! 50 pounds of black powder in the back seat couldn't be much worse. If ya gotta go, go big!Driving around surrounded by 20 gallons of gasoline all the time
I used to fly, don't remember any regs concerning what one could transport in their own airplane...other than coming back from Mexico with a load, late at night, flying low with the lights off. (I actually got an offer to fly co-pilot on a twin doing that. I declined.) ("thank you for asking, but no")(it paid well, and would have been "exciting", but no) But that was a long time ago, don't know if there are such regs now or not. I kind of doubt it though.I was thinking there was a good chance that transporting BP in an airplane was a no-no per regulations cuz you know, we have to have regulations
Are you saying your friend loaded 50lbs of Black Powder into his plane and flew it home
Ha ha, that's what I meant, Pinto, not Maverick. (although I think the Mavericks were constructed the same) I agree, no impact is going to set off the BP, it would have to be engulfed in flames longer than what it would take to incinerate a person unable to get out of the vehicle. ? By the time the powder ignited, one would be long dead.Let's see, get rear ended in a Ford Pinto or carry 25lb of the holy black. Which is most likely to get you incinerated.
