Outside of pull weight how's the trigger feel? Smoother? I've found that I can shoot well with a heavier pull if the trigger is smooth all the way through the pull.Springs installed, not impressed with results. Waiting for reply from BHsprings.

You can say the same thing about every 1911 not made by Colt. Knock-offs, clones, and copies. Just because a pistol isn't made by the original patient holder doesn't mean they're not made well, sometimes better than the original. For what?? You bought a FN knock-off not a true product.. You get what you pay for.
No not really, as the original 1911 was contracted to multiple companiescan say the same thing about every 1911 not made by Colt
But a lot more companies then the 'originals' make them today. Many far better then the originals. No not really, as the original 1911 was contracted to multiple companies
The pull was pretty smooth after I removed the magazine disconnect.Outside of pull weight how's the trigger feel? Smoother? I've found that I can shoot well with a heavier pull if the trigger is smooth all the way through the pull.
You are correct as far as it goes. To the best of my knowledge, there hasn't been a contract built 1911 since WW2. So my statement still stands. FN decided no halt production of the hi power so of course other manufacturers are going to step up and make there own versions. Dealers in my area can't keep them in stock. No not really, as the original 1911 was contracted to multiple companies

I think to be fair you have to put things into perspective here. The "original" 1911's were all built to one specific spec, which they were to hold to, and designed to fire a specific ball ammo. What we have today, is far from that, and many of those are NOT "far better".But a lot more companies then the 'originals' make them today. Many far better then the originals.

NOT TRUE, the MK III parts are interchangeable with the Girsan.and parts are not "drop in" and may not work properly. Same problem you may be seeing with your copy.
I've used cylinder and slide parts in the past and have a hi power at mk3 custom getting there parts installed among other upgrades as I type this. Always been pleased with the quality of the parts.Been reading and cruising the internet. Cylinder and Slide has all sorts of enhancement parts.
I believe C & S is now employee-owned.The new pistol looks fantastic, very happy you survived the trip! C&S is actually no more so if you’re considering parts get them NOW!!! Otherwise EGW offers HP parts as does APEX, the latter claiming to have drawn inspiration from Garthwaite. Fingers crossed for better results.
Correct. They are open and shipping.I believe C & S is now employee-owned.
Excellent news, I’ve been out of the loop for a bit.I believe C & S is now employee-owned.
This is true. I've had two actual BHps. The one has a really clean trigger, crisp, it all goes at once. It is entirely Belgian. The other was an itinerary gun, finished in Portugal. It had a relentlessly mediocre trigger, heavy and creepy. I made it go away.If you knew Hi Powers you'd know HP's of any flavor have always been known for bad triggers.
It's the geometry and linkage.
Not meaning to pick nits, but weren't the WWI 1911s strictly a Colt proposition, unlike WWII, when several manufacturers made them?No not really, as the original 1911 was contracted to multiple companies
In the context of what was said and the reply, the reply was correct; indeed it could not be said for ALL non-Colt 1911s and the explanation of their being manufactured by various companies suffices as evidence, no matter the time period produced. Not meaning to pick nits, but weren't the WWI 1911s strictly a Colt proposition, unlike WWII, when several manufacturers made them?
