Too many times I've been left wondering "did I pull that shot. Or was it the scope? I didn't think I pulled that shot?" That's what has led me to this.It would be hard to beat an old school 36 power Leupold or Weaver scope. Or one of the higher fixed power modern Leupold competition scopes. Or go first class and buy a Nightforce 42X competition scope!
My thinking is that if your testing is going to be meaningful you need to use a dependable scope.

Shooting small on a consistent basis is a process of elimination. The scope is one variable out of a many
Isn't that what I said in my original post?Shooting small on a consistent basis is a process of elimination. The scope is one variable out of a many

Sorry. I guess I had an antagonistic attitude when i read it. Tough day at work yesterday.Does it bother you that we agree?
For a long time I've wanted a scope I could move from rifle to rifle for load development. I basically just need high magnification with good resolution. I just want to KNOW that I'm getting the best performance from the rest of the system (rifle, ammo, shooter). I'm thinking along the lines of a 36x leupold target scope. I see a couple on ebay at about $600.00 What are you guys using and why?
TIA
