Scope for shooting goups

It would be hard to beat an old school 36 power Leupold or Weaver scope. Or one of the higher fixed power modern Leupold competition scopes. Or go first class and buy a Nightforce 42X competition scope! ;)

My thinking is that if your testing is going to be meaningful you need to use a dependable scope.

Too many times I've been left wondering "did I pull that shot. Or was it the scope? I didn't think I pulled that shot?" That's what has led me to this.

For a long time I've wanted a scope I could move from rifle to rifle for load development. I basically just need high magnification with good resolution. I just want to KNOW that I'm getting the best performance from the rest of the system (rifle, ammo, shooter). I'm thinking along the lines of a 36x leupold target scope. I see a couple on ebay at about $600.00 What are you guys using and why?
TIA

Sounds good to me. I am caffine immune but not from essential tremors now. They are a real PIA and like my neurologist warned just get worse as you age. I asked him at my last checkup when he upped my medicine intake how much was safe. He replied until you can't walk. Its really annoying when using enough Xes to watch your crosshairs bounce with each head shake even though you are pretty well doped up. Take another 50 mg and wait.

I kept one of the Whitetail Specials around for years to use when working up loads for a new rifle. I finally gave it to my oldest grandson a couple of years ago. A good. clear, and bright scope.
