My criteria is 9mm, double stack, 10 rounds preffered minimun, and can be carried cocked and locked. Is there one that fits this criteria?

HK USP Compact, fills all your requirements.

JMOfartO:

Respectfully,

What's that "cocked 'n locked" business all about?

I know there are a zillion 1911 types out there who swear by the "cocked 'n locked" 45ACP's, but looking for a subcompact 9MM pistol, double-stack, cocked and locked might be a bit difficult.

FWIW I'm a big compact, subcompact 9MM fan, and I "prefer" a TDA platform if I can get it.

My favorite 9mm carry pistol is an HK P2000sk (V3)... Absolutely reliable and scary accurate right out of the box. Double-stack, de-cocker. I don't believe in a single-action anything for concealed carry, and that's what I use my pistols/revolvers for.

In the past I've had a Walther P99c/AS... Fantastic 9MM sub-compact. I have an HK P7, S&W 3rd Gen CS9, 3913, 3913LS, all single-stacks, but excellent choices for personal defense and concealed carry.

Of course what I like has nothing to do with what you like, so please take my suggestions with that in mind.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

I am hard pressed to think of anything meeting all of these criteria. There is the Springfield EMP (no personal experience), but it is neither double stack nor 10 rounds. The CZ75 Compact can be carried cocked and locked and is a double stack with 14+1 rounds, but it is neither subcompact nor lightweight (being all steel). There are some H&K USP Compact models that can be cocked and locked, but they are not subcompact. The cocked and locked option is not available on the subcompact P2000SK. How about the S&W M&P compact? It fits the size and capacity (12+1 with a flat base or finger extension magazine), is 100% reliable (I had one, so I know) and is available with an optional manual safety. Perhaps that would be a good compromise.

...

Can speak highly about the SA EMP 1911 SAO (cocked and locked) that their single stack mags (no pinkie extension here/needed) hold 9+1.. and are easy to hand-load, full, from the get go - NIB

Just over 6k flawless, and love the 124gr JHP's

Small, lightweight, least to me, slide thumb release safety and palm grip safety and is ambi, if one is a lefty..

3" bull barrel

Night sights, lifetime warranty and excellent, caring, fast, CS behind the gun.

Just a thought,

Ls

Ps.. Beretta's Px4 SC 9mm are DA/SA, only, at this time

Glock 26 - + 2 mag extension = 12 rounds + 1 in pipe . Wonderful dependability , very accurate , affordable , lots of goodies available to add on if desired , ( ct laser , nite sights , trigger safety etc) Can't go wrong .

I take it you didn't click the link, what I posted is a CZ 2075 which is a subcompact holding 10 rounds or 14 with an extension and from what I understand it can be carried Cocked and Locked.

The Glock 26 is fantastic, a pleasure to shoot too. My PF9 is great, really small, but only holds 7+1 rounds and is nowhere near the quality of the Glock.

M&Pc with the thumb safety. Almost same basic size package as the RAMI, G26, P2000SK, PX4 and a few others.

The RAMI meets what you're looking for but not the BD model as that is a decocker.

Why are there so many suggestions in this thread that clearly dont meet the OP's criteria?
My criteria is 9mm, double stack, 10 rounds preffered minimun, and can be carried cocked and locked.

Personally I think the M&P 9C and the Glock 26 are two of the best subcompact carry guns on the market. BUT since you asked for cocked and locked and its so ANNOYING when people suggest their own pet gun rather than what you actually asked for:

CZ has several that fit the bill and they are great handguns. See the CZ 75 compact, the RAMI, RAMI-P, etc....

http://cz-usa.com/products/by-category/handguns/

I can't think of much else that actually fits the bill. Both would do nicely but I would give the edge to the CZs.

taurus 24/7 compact in 9mm meets your qualifications, 3.3" barrel, 13 or 17 round magazine, can be carried cocked and locked or if you change your mind also has a decocker. apparently taurus is hit or miss, but so far it's been good to me

Jon that is what I wanted in the first place but I didn't know they made it in 9mm, I wanted a 9mm backup because IMO its strange that your backup is more powerful and it would be the same ammo.

Thanks

what about the XD-sub9, 13 rounds and one in the pipe. No cocked and locked but it has grip and trigger safetys. 3" barrel makes it small to carry

Couldn't agree more. So tired of seeing things like "I'm trying to decide between a 1911 and a BHP" being answered with "Get a Glock 22!"

To the OP:

The USPc, Warthog (actually "Hawg 9" in 9mm) and RAMI have been covered. There are also the Tanfoglio Witness pistols, either steel or polymer. 12+1, TDA with C&L capability.

The Beretta 9000s also has these features, but they are chunky little critters. Good shooters, though. I had one.

Sound advice. The weapon must fit your hand to shoot well. I know 1911s are great weapons but for some reason they do not suit me well. I can shoot the blazes out of my P220. You can narrow down the options but you will do yourself a lot of good if you can get a little range time with them before deciding.

I'm experianced with handguns just I wanted a 9mm subcompact with Cocked and Locked to go along with the High Power I'm getting.

Ruger SR9C is what your looking for. 10+1 with the compact mag or 17 +1 with the full mag. Thumb safety to go along with the trigger safety.

I have a BHP too and ended up with the MP9c with thumb safety. I was really wanting a RAMI and actualy want all metal. I could only find the RAMI P to hold.

(actually I REALLY like the HK2000sk but it has no thumb safety :-(

I knew the RAMI in P vs metal would be a little different feeling but I just didnt like the fit of the RAMI with the trigger reach being the worst part FOR ME. But I have shorter fingers.

The MP9c fit ME better and trigger reach was better FOR ME. But I admit, the thumb safety is overly large IMO.

Try as many as you can and buy what fits you best.
