Mine works fine although the front hand guard gets too hot to be enjoyable before the first mag is empty when making 2-liter plastic bottles "dance".

I fixed it by adding a folding vertical grip, details:

Like anything Century, don't buy one sight unseen, you need to do the final inspection yourself and not buy the ones that should have failed.

The bullpup stock is made by Kvar.
Kvar use to sell the stock seperately, as the AKU94.

CAI takes their Romanian kit built AK and puts it in the stock.




RPKs in the AKU94 bullpup stock was used in the Kurt Russel movie "Soldier".

I bought 2 of those AKU-94 Bull Pups from J&G for $400 each with the intent of totally reworking the kit to make it more solid and accessory friendly.

With the exception of the Magpul Back Up Sights, a holo/red dot optic and accessories such as a light,


I'm done with my first one

The quad rail is a custom modified combination of 2 different UTG Rails. I used the bottom section from their 7.62 Saiga Rail and the middle and top sections from their 12 Gauge Saiga Rail. The bottom needed a lot of modification to make it work but the top only had to be cut at an angle and shortened to match the modified rear sight.

I removed the top of the rear sight to provide a secure contact point to the back section of the top rail.

I added a modified section from a UTG "13 Slot 1 Inch Riser" to the forward lower section of the 7.62 Rail. This provided a secure place to mount the stubby vertical grip.

The bull barrel is a piece of 1/2 electrical conduit, this is just a sleeve to cover up the grooves that used to retail the AK front sight post. The Bird Cage Flash Hider secures it in place.

The Shoulder Pad is made from a custom cut aluminum plate that is secured to the original butt stock with 2 screws and some washers.




This gun is awesome to handle. It feels great in your shoulder and the grips are not too close together. When you hold this you get a rock solid balanced feel that just provokes attitude.

No one that handles it can believe I made the modifications, I have to show then the unmodified rifle. I can't wait to build my other other one.

As soon as I get my Magpul BUSs I'm taking it to the range, I'm sure it will shoot great

Looks pretty sweet. How is the trigger with yours? I've been trying to resist the urge to get one of these and the ammo deal they have going on now makes it even harder..

How difficult is it to load and unload?

It looks like the position of the grip might interfere with locking a mag in place, also does the size of the mag matter, like a 40 rounder being too long or being longer make it easier to load than 30?

Just got done cleaning cherry/coke Slurpee off of the carpet...but it was worth it. funny stuff.

The trigger pull on both of mine is fine. It isn’t crisp but it isn’t bad. It is longer and it seems to buffer any trigger jerk I create by sending a couple rounds to the same spot.

Most people don't know that the grip is a magazine guide. To reload, you set the mag on the front tab and the base on the mag on the bottom of the grip. It only took me a few practice runs and I was able to reload my gun quickly.


My only experience with Century Arms is the purchase of these 2 Bull Pups. Based on that, I can not complain. The construction was top notch and the finish is excellent.

At $400 it would almost be silly not to get one of these.

How much did all those mods cost in total boba?

I have less then $200 in all the part but I get the UTG rails at wholesale..

Hmmm..... I may be very interested in doing that as well. My tiny wife has trouble holding full sized guns.

I might just go with a back up front sight post with a halo style optic.

That is one of the sexiest AK's I've ever seen.

Long before all the rail kits became available (and affordable) I put a KVAR kit on a Mak90 and used a Ultimak sight rail and a Kobra for sighting. I never took off the front sight as I may want to return it to its original config someday.

The grip is well placed and the curve lets 30 rounders rock right in and out. Never tried a 40 rounder in mine. My Norinco bullpup is hard to use with anything other than 20 round mags.

hmmm, maybe you can market your own kit for an AK.... I'd buy it.

That AK almost looks like a AUG, poorman's AUG I guess.

If anyone is serious about wanting to build one of these I can help you get the quad rails from UTG and I could even do the rough mods, you would have to fine tune them to your own rifle.


Here is a comparison of the original rifle and my version

Original: 27" long / 17" LOP / 7 pounds unleaded

Mine : 29" long / 18" LOP / 8.6 Pounds

I'm quite interested. I don't have an AK at the moment, but this is seriously giving me the jones for one.
